Israeli soldier openly talks about how the IDF kill innocent Palestinians

This is one of the most shameful articles I have read regarding the IDF's war crimes in Gaza.

This soldier talks openly how they would shoot innocent Palestinians and how it was like the wild west. The commanders would act depending on how they felt that day. Whether to shoot innocent civilians or kidnap them. Some held the belief that there are no innocents in Gaza and acted accordingly and this belief and subsequent war crimes were not challenged.

It's a hard read but a must. Especially for those who insist the IDF are only fighting Hamas and innocents are just caught up. This article aswell as many others shows that innocents have always been targeted.

Israeli soldier describes arbitrary killing of civilians in Gaza

Speaking in a rare on-camera interview with Sky News, the soldier said the criteria of opening fire on civilians shifted depending on the commander.

No. We don’t need to make another thread. This one is a perfectly reasonable thread for debate.
Hatred is a strong word to use on either side. Unfortunately I only see hatred from pro Palestine not pro Israel

You just told anothet poster 'why keep looking backwards' but are now arguing we should debate the history on this thread? Sure go ahead, if you feel it's related to the thread.

I find it laughable and unbelievable that you think you only see hatred from one side.

Well I see the opposite go figure.

That's a nice way to pin it one event as if there was no build up to it. If anyone instigated it, it would be the British. I think the more honest question would be who took whose land? The belief that one group is superior to the other goes way back.

Actually it was Ben Gurion who executed Plan Dalet (a brutal ethnic cleansing and extermination campaign) in March 1948. Prior to unilaterally declaring the modern day Israeli state on May 14th 1948.

One of the worst massacres occurred in Deir Yassin on Apil 9th 1948.

Unfortunately many of the people who are happy to dehumanise Palestinians are more the willing engage in historical revisionism.

The Deir Yassin massacre: Why it still matters 75 years later

Brutal attacks by Zionist militias on Deir Yassin killed at least 107 Palestinians and made thousands flee other towns.

You have only commented on 1 point. How’s about commenting on the rest?
Why keep looking backwards? Instead of addressing the fact that Hamas are the reason Gaza suffers today.

I was correcting something in your post not commenting.

I'm not looking backwards I'm commenting on something that's happening in the present. Palestinians in Gaza are suffering because of Hamas, because of the illegal occupation and because of Israel's genocidal activities and war crimes.

If you want to talk about historical grievances since the state of Israel was formed then feel free to start a thread on it. I'm sure you will find the Palestinians have alot more to complain about and still do when they are targeted daily by radical settlers who are aided by the IDF.

I thought Palestine and Gaza was the same place .
Are they not all squashed in to that tiny amount of space by the IDF

Is this an attempt at satire or sarcasm? Either way it failed.
Can’t call it a Palestine genocide when pockets of Palestine are doing really well.

Free Palestine-incorrect because many places in Palestine are not suffering. It should be Free Gaza.
No it's not incorrect it traditionally relates to free Palestine from illegal occupation which includes both Gaza and the West Bank. It predates this current conflict

Martymcfly24 · 07/07/2025 14:57

That article is terrible @Whatsinanamehey . The depth of hatred (and I will include Hamas in that) is just shocking that human life means so little to anyone.

I would also worry about the long term psychological effects on the young men and women in the IDF because they are so young. When they get older and have families of their own and they look back on these crimes against humanity how will they feel. Especially if there are war crime trials in the future and the international community know more about what has happened in Gaza..

Seagull5 · 07/07/2025 14:57

I'm surprised the UN haven't put sanctions in place,or maybe they have and they are being ignored..I thought the UN had more power ..
But my understanding is very limited, although I'm trying to understand

Seagull5 · 07/07/2025 14:53

The way I understand it ,is IDF have been murdering people in Palestine, and the hamas have retaliated
But when hamas retaliated ,they did it in such a big way it was headline news
So the world felt sympathy for the Israelis..as they should ..
But what was swept under the carpet was the years of suffering the Palestinians had been suffering at the hands of the IDF ...seems to be little sympathy here from the world, although I see that does seem to be changing ...
So the hamas attack was in retaliation, not a sudden attack for no reason..from their point of view ..
From the world's point of view ,we want it to stop ,we know not all Israelites support the IDF and not all Palestinians support hamas.
Innocent people on both sides are being killed
I pray both sides can come to an agreement and stop all fighting,I'm sure they can't possibly want more deaths on either side ..
Feel free to correct me if I've misunderstood anything here

Palestine is the greater area or country. Gaza is an area beside the sea, The West Bank is landlocked. Al Quds is Jerusalem.

So what I don't understand is how everyone missed the point of the Glastonbury situation..why were people getting upset at the shouting of ....death to the IDF ....,and saying it's anti-Semitic.
The IDF isn't a religion,it's a army or police force..so it can't be classed as anti Semitic to be against it
Plus why were people getting more upset with what he shouted and linking it to that lady in prison for her Facebook post .
Two different things
IDF are murdering innocent people in food lines ..why is that swept under the carpet in this country and people more upset about someone shouting about the IDF
Feels like the world has gone mad at the moment

I agree the world has gone mad.

I am so sick of side stepping of how bad things have become for healthy Palestinians (I’m assuming anyone with anything complex has died). They are being dismissed as if the other issues are bigger.

I came across this the other day and reading OP article to me says this has been a policy since day 1.

Free Palestine-incorrect because many places in Palestine are not suffering. It should be Free Gaza.
It should also be Free Gaza from Hamas.
Why is it that this board will refuse to put the blame solely on Hamas actions and blame Israel for defending itself?
Genocide is a strong emotive word. Is it really genocide? Or just numerous casualties of a war ISRAEL didn’t start?
Where are the other Palestine governments and how are they helping?
Mad how you can’t see the rise in antisemitism and how many Jewish people feel about the whole shit show.
You don’t GAF about ‘hurty words’ until it’s directed at you.
You will never succeed in your cause whilst a terrorist organisation is still in power. And nor should you.

It is the same exact story from the Palestinians. They’ve been killing innocent civilians too, then boast about it on camera.

Well it goes totally against the narrative that Israel are doing everything possible to avoid civilian casualties, that they act with precision to take out Hamas and how they have the lowest civilian casualty rate of any army, no?

I hope those committing war crimes on both sides are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I do wonder why there's constant threads from a few about Israeli crimes, but I never see those names on threads about Hamas crimes, Palestinian terrorism, corruption in Palestinian politics etc.

Ive also noted that absolutely no one on this thread wants to talk about the bigger issues, the history, the other possible ways. Its very, very difficult to prise you lot away from your hatred to talk. I guess that's the problem with this conflict in a nutshell.

It's a thread about a current sky news story. Take your issue up with them.

Why should they on this thread what you are describing has been discussed on many other threads go add to them

You lot 🙄well how dare we comment on a current news article highlighting war crimes. Discussing war crimes is not hatred. If you see it that way I think the issue lies with you.

Except they aren't.

On that awful 7th October day yes, and that was an indefensible day.

Since then virtually no Israeli civilians have been killed by Hamas. Less than a dozen. The IDF have killed more kids in a single family than Hamas have killed civilians in the last 18 months. More because of Israel's iron dome than out of any moral stance in all likelihood, but the stories of targeting civilians are only one way for a reason.

War requires that soldiers dehumanize the enemy
Dehumanise enemy soldiers not innocent civilians. Their dehumanisation of innocent civilians and decision to kill them is a war crime and not justifiable and they will hopefully be prosecuted for it.

It doesn't excuse it. Its awful.

War requires that soldiers dehumanize the enemy, otherwise the dissonance required to repeatedly kill them would be too difficult to overcome and soldiers would be morally paralyzed thus ineffective.

Idf dehumanizes Palestinians. Hamas and those that joined in on 7 October dehumanized Israelis.

War is always, always an absolute tragedy. For those who are killed, those who lose loved family members, those who lose something human inside themselves in order to kill, those who are radicalized by the violence, those who are damaged by the violence.

We all hope this war ends soon.

What do want people to say? Of course I feel sorry for the civilians on BOTH sides. Killing civilians is an unavoidable part of a war.
Do you want to talk about how Hamas use their civilians as a shield? It is well-documented in the media. No, instead you want to blame the Israelis.

The article isn't about unavoidable killing of civillians though? That's kind of the whole point of it.
