This is just unbelievable. These ‘protesters’ are being given free rein to threaten and assault pro-Israelis (Jewish) because ‘there’s 500 of them and 2 of you’.

Police not interested in doing their job, which is upholding the law I thought?

Just sickening that this country has come to this.

So only one group can hold a flag? Why is that?

I wish they were more balanced. Tbf I usually avoid the pro Palestinian threads, they get boring now.

So again a pro Israel march you would support people plonking themselves in the middle with Palestinian flags and shouting fuck you at anyone who is there? People should be able to walk down the street right?

Iscumaliom · 25/06/2025 14:46

EasternStandard · 25/06/2025 14:35

A vigil now?

Someone can walk through a group and can expect to not be assaulted. If they are it’s the clear who is seen as the thugs.

That’s the problem, it spreads a bad image for these protests. Assaulting people is not peaceful.

Edited

So they just happened to be walking through a Pro Palestine march minding their own business waving a flag?

And yes I don't see a difference between targeting a vigil where you know grieving people might be and targeting a march where you know grieving families might be. The end result is the same isn't it?

So you don’t think UK terror victims and their families?
You don’t think the brand Pro Palestine has evolved into would intimidate someone who lost their kid to a terrorist? Thinking Ariana concert here.

Edited

Am i missing something? Why would the Palestinian flag trigger victims of the Manchester attacks?
Palestinian does not equal Hamas in the same way Irish does not equal IRA.... the large majority of people affected by the genocide in gaza are innocent children. People can protest against the murder of children while still being against hamas.

I am not a government, nor the OED, why does this surprise you?

Answer the very basic question I put to you.

RoseRR · 25/06/2025 14:30

I think if you have some knowledge about the conflict which spans decades, then you wouldn’t say thing like “Hamas is the problem”. There is no one problem in this conflict.

Yep, I’m aware it has been going on for decades.
I know that for many British people it wasn’t on the radar until 7/10
I know that some people have looked at the history books and come down on which side they sympathise with.
Israel have continually said that a ceasefire is an option if Hamas release the hostages. They haven’t 🤷‍♀️
Granted, it’s a very basic illustration but that’s what you’re dealing with when you want to convey support for a terrorist government.

RoseRR · 25/06/2025 14:38

Come on. What was their motivation I wonder. I personally don’t walk around London waving my country’s flag every day 🙄

The police was right to move them on, just as they would be right to moving on protesters turning up outside a synagogue waving their Palestinian flags.

I really wish these threads were more balanced. It’s a bit boring now.

Interesting that South Africa has actually accused Israel of apartheid politics…

So you would support someone turning up to a vigil for the hostages where grieving relatives may be and shout fuck you repeatedly at them, the police should leave that be? You would only have an issue if the grieving families reacted to that in a violent way?

But your post DIDN’T say that at all. Your post said that you felt the same about Israel’s right to protect itself against a death cult. Your post said should really be careful that you practice what you preach, or people will come after you. But hey, no worries eh? All a big misunderstanding.

My post said "Same".

In regard to another poster saying I'm not Jewish but have absolute solidarity with Israel for defending themselves from a death cult.

I have now explained that the "Same" was more in relation to this part of the other person's comment, I'm not Jewish but have absolute solidarity with Israel for defending themselves ... than to the "death cult" part which is a phrase I don't personally use.

You're getting agitated for no reason.

Seriously! You are defending this behaviour?

Disgusting.

I’d rather defend this behaviour than the behaviour of the government of Israel

If the answer from pro Palestine protestors is to assault them then it is they who are the thugs - and people will view them as such.

Me too. It’s not right anyone is suffering persecution or violence.
I was completely on board with people who are pro Palestine prior to 7/10.
I would say that I still am. But while some supporters refuse to accept Hamas is the problem, I feel the movement is now just an opportunity to be antisemitic.

You said that you care about people who feel unsafe? Surely you can see how that situation would lead to people feeling unsafe. If someone was supporting the killers of my parents or siblings and shouting fuck you at me while waving the flag under which the killing is happening I would find that very intimidating and feel unsafe, wouldn't you?

Sure there’s awful things going on. Ukraine, Sudan countless others. All those poor people made to fight or attacked. I still care about people here. All of our society. Including Jewish people in the U.K.

And not just that I don’t support any terrorism and disagree with the positioning of proscription as wrong.

RoseRR · 25/06/2025 14:23

You lost me at the word DEFENSE in reference to Israel’s massacre in Gaza.

Iscumaliom · 25/06/2025 14:22

EasternStandard · 25/06/2025 14:16

No why would I agree to that?

People who protest are accountable for their own actions including not assaulting someone else.

Pro Palestinian protestors thinking it’s ok to do this are off putting to others. It’s really not the way to go if you want support.

Messycoo · 25/06/2025 14:17

Yes it’s shit, from Met P point of view it’s would be easier to control 2 individuals, rather then 500!

EasternStandard · 25/06/2025 14:16

Iscumaliom · 25/06/2025 14:12

So you agree that 2 Israelis plonking themselves in the middle of a pro Palestine march and attempting to wave the flag of the country who are calling for the ethnic cleansing of the relatives of people there is wrong? They deserve to feel safe too and people yelling 'fuck you' as poster here saw while waving the Israeli flag at them is obviously going to be very intimidating.

Well done to the police for moving them on.

No why would I agree to that?

Have you been to a Britain First march to ask their opinion?
I know that while Hamas are in charge, Gaza citizens won’t get western support.
I know Iran has plotted terror attacks this year in England.
Tell me which gaps in understanding am I missing?

Gaza didn’t have western support before hamas.
The UK’s successive governments are happy with the ruining the system of international laws. A day will come when we as a medium country would want to rely on the international laws as our protection, but it might be too late.
