This is just unbelievable. These ‘protesters’ are being given free rein to threaten and assault pro-Israelis (Jewish) because ‘there’s 500 of them and 2 of you’.

Police not interested in doing their job, which is upholding the law I thought?

Just sickening that this country has come to this.

How people in Gaza share their life “outside of what is happening now” though? What does that actually look like?

Not now I mean, it’s not possible. But sometime in the future if we want to start seeing each other in a better way.

Terrorists stop and we hear from people. It’s hard but possible and would help stop this cycle of retribution.

No not now. As I said outside what is happening.

As a way to move forward.

How do you think they could share their stories when Israel has prevented the media from entering Gaza?

It’s almost as if Israel is doing to control the narrative.

Not just Israel trying to control the narrative of course.

What point are you making?

Do you say the same thing about 7/10 and all the preceding suicide attacks in Israel?

Do you expect Israelis to be radicalised by the actions of hamas, hezbollah, houthis, PIJ etc (all Iranian proxies btw) and excuse them?

I think there are radical views in Israel yes. The destruction, the maiming of children, the starvation- thinking all of that is “defense” is a radical viewpoint.

It’s not about “excusing” people. There is radicalisation on both sides. That’s just a fact.

There is a way to adjust how people view things. Of course there are people in Gaza who have stories of normal everyday life which would resonate. Outside what is happening now.

And people don’t want to be targeted by terrorists either.

It feels far off but if the former could start to tell those stories again, and the latter could stop, the way we perceive each other would improve.

Simon Reeves Mediterranean documentary on i-player visits Israel & Gaza, and many other countries too. It contrasts the world on opposite sides of the med, touches on migrant journeys and exploitation, and a couple of stories from Gaza & Libya of returnees helping to rebuild.
Interesting watch.

I noticed you say nothing about what Israel is doing every day for the past 20 months in Gaza, in West Bank.
I have nothing to add to what I already said.

Of course you don't.

Both sides.
Is it normal to strafe teenagers with automatic weapons then turn them to pulp with grenades? To inflict, person to person, the violence that was filmed and witnessed on 7/10.
Some people celebrated that!
It's all horrific.

Peace in the middle east has been a dream for at least as long as I've been alive. Which countries in the region would you consider peaceful & how have they achieved that?

Islamic nutjob flags

Are you referring the Palestinian flag as an Islamic nutjob flag?

No. I'm saying people who use violence against civilians in pursuit of a political or ideological goal in the name of Islam are Islamic nutjobs. And a relatively large number of internationally visible Islamic nutjobs are Palestinian.

quantumbutterfly · 27/06/2025 10:05

izthiszeend · 27/06/2025 09:44

Don’t you see that it happened already?
Do you not see the level of dehumanization of Palestinians?
Do you not see that a normal soldier would not shoot a child in the head, burn tents, shell hospitals, hell - the list is too long.

The two sides are not equal. One has full diplomatic and military support from the US and Europe, the other are being starved, bombed and fired.
One is locked in in the rubble, the other comes here on holiday between the shooting shifts on duty.

People are radicalised on both sides, that’s just reality, it’s not excusing something to acknowledge it.
There are Palestinians who can see no compromise with Israel and there are Israelis who want no compromise with Gaza and the West Bank.
That’s the entire problem.

If you were honestly concerned about terrorism you would be calling to stop Israel - they are creating conditions for the birth of extremism.
7/7 casualty numbers are daily occurrence in Gaza.
Israeli actions do not protect anyone, they put us all in danger.

You’re twisting the narrative now.
We have been talking about the UK.
The original point was terror victims in the UK would be triggered by the Palestinian flag.

The source I quoted from mentioned 3 major Islamist terrorist attacks in the UK in recent years.
Westminster attack
Manchester arena
London Bridge attack.

Plus Islamist terrorist attacks in Europe are widely reported by UK media so people in the UK are well aware of them.

My point is not many terrorist atrocities committed under the British flag in recent years, compared to Islamic terrorism in Europe.

Since 2014, more than 20 fatal attacks have been carried out in Europe. France saw eight attacks between January 2015 and July 2016;[13] this included the January 2015 Île-de-France attacks, the November 2015 Paris attacks, and the July 2016 Nice truck attack. The United Kingdom saw three major attacks carried out in a span of four months in early 2017 (Westminster attack, Manchester Arena bombing, and London Bridge attack). Other targets in Europe have included Belgium, Germany, Russia, and Spain. The transcontinental city of Istanbul also saw both bombings and shootings, including in January 2016, June 2016 and January 2017.

Are you joking? You think more people have been killed in the UK by Palestinian or even Islamic terrorism than loyalist terrorism in who’s lifetime?

Islamists seem to enjoy large scale attacks. For instance, in the UK.

7/7 52 killed, 700 injured
Ariana Grande attack 23 killed, 1000 injured
2 attacks compared to:
https://www.reuters.com/article/world/us/timeline-worst-ira-bomb-attacks-on-mainland-britain-idUSTRE74F31Q/

A similar attack to 7/7 was thwarted by incompetence on 21/7. There were also plans to attack UK airliners that were fortunately thwarted, which brings me to, Lockerbie 270 killed (11 on the ground).

These are some that we know about. You might also note that when the IRA targeted civilians they tended to give coded warnings, it was more about civilian disruption...until Enniskillen. Islamist modus operandi is maximum death, shock and awe. Very different beast.

You actually originally said in posters lifetime so good you have corrected that.

Can you find examples outside of NI though? (since most people in the UK don't live there and never go there)
Why? It is part of the UK and it is the British flag, 1.9 million people live there.

I also agree with @PaxAeterna

In Northern Ireland the Union Jack is still used to assert dominance and provoke nationalist communities. - You only need to view footage of July 12th and the orange parades to see this.

@dairydebris

"Oh come on.

One Islamist nutjob has a link to other Islamist nutjobs. You might not feel comfortable admitting it but most people know it.

Palestine has a history of islamist nutjobs committing terrorist atrocities. It's ok to admit it, it's the truth."

Good summary.

Plus it's pretty uncomfortable when same nut jobs start waving Islamic nutjob flags in UK streets.
