This is just unbelievable. These ‘protesters’ are being given free rein to threaten and assault pro-Israelis (Jewish) because ‘there’s 500 of them and 2 of you’.

Police not interested in doing their job, which is upholding the law I thought?

Just sickening that this country has come to this.

You wouldn't do anything? If a group came to the house your family owned for generations and took it from you viliently assaulting all the men women and children there, if your child was kidnapped? If your father was abducted, starved and tortured held without trial for decades? If your whole family was wiped out by a bomb in their tent after they were forcefully dispaced? You wouldn't do anything against the people responsible? You wouldn't want to hurt them in any way possible?

Oh no, it’s different when things like this happen in the West don’t you know? We can start entire world wars when Western nations are at risk of invasion and terrorism.

When it’s happening to the rest of the world people should just put up and shut up. Because racism and colonial attitudes abide.

Do the Jewish people support what the Israeli government has been doing for nearly a hundred years? Did Hamas exist before 1948?

What is your answer here, rather than another question.

If it is a no the reason is Hamas’ brutality. The people too are subject to it. So whilst they may want to protest Hamas make it lethal to do so.

The clue is in there

I don’t need a clue, an answer would suffice.

How on earth can you know what you would do or how you would feel if you had grown up in Palestine? It’s not like some leafy suburb of London 🤷🏻‍♀️

You’re closer to describing those who react violently to Jewish people at a protest. They too are from leafy suburbs or similar, so there’s no excuse.

Do the people in Gaza want what Hamas are doing?

On protesting they too were shown brutality by Hamas.

I don't know every person in Gaza so I can't say if they all support Hamas or not the election was like 20 years ago so since 40% of Palestinians were under 18 (prior to Oct 7th) none of them had voted for hamas.
I highly doubt the hubdreds of thousands of toddlers and infants murderd and maimed by Israel have any political affiliation. Those that manage survive, how can they be ever ok mentally and who could blame them if they end up joining a terrorist organisation.

I'm not being funny but I wouldn't have wanted to start a war, nor would I have been in favour of invading a neighbouring country and committing a horrifying terrorist atrocity. Which would have made me very out of step with the general population of Palestine on eg 7th October 2023 but there we are.

I'd do absolutely nothing. I wouldn't kill anyone, I wouldn't cheer the rape and torture of anyone, I wouldn't be involved in invading another country. What would you do?

Babyboomtastic · 25/06/2025 11:31

Spin this as anti Jewish if you want because it fits your narrative better.

Though they were supporting Israel which had nothing to do with being Jewish, so that makes no sense right - we've all been told repeatedly how important it is to not conflate the two.

Its not about being anti Jewish or anti Israel. It's about some unpleasant people trying to pick a fight.

Do I think all UK Russians support Russia's war in Ukraine - no. But it would be unpleasant and provocative to go to a march for peace in Ukraine and wave a Russian flag.

It would be unpleasant and provocative to try and give out bacon sandwiches at a veganism rally.

I'm passionately GC, but I wouldn't turn up at a trans right march with an 'adult woman female' t shirt on. Because I value my safety, they have a right to protest and most significantly, because I'm not a dick.

Oh good grief! Yes they did start it. Stop infantilising Palestinians. Allow them the agency they took as human beings. They committed a horrifying terrorist action and they revelled in it.

(the West Bank was part of Jordan until Arab states invaded Israel in 1967 and lost, after which it was ceded to Israel. So why Palestinians tried to settle - colonise? - the area I have no idea. Israel hasn't been in Gaza for decades, it's long past time for Palestine to stand on its own two feet rather than demand Israel supplies - not controls - its water etc)

Ahistorical

Probably start by marching, and protesting.

Like the majority of people in the uk my family have already fought a war against true antisemitism and sacrificed those we loved that a place like Israel could even exist. That it has grown to be what it is today, is horrifying. I hope it doesn’t escalate any further and that the Israelis wake up to what they have become. At present they are ever more isolated and behaving in an ever more unstable and unconscionable way.

Making their little strip of land smaller and smaller and treating them like 2nd class citizens in their own county but when some Palestinians try to fight back against the invaders they are the "terrorists"?

Are you talking about 7th October here? Because yes that was undeniably terrorism.

Ok so you think that was terrorism but not Nakba in 1948 where 15,000 Palestinians were murdered and hundreds of thousands displaced by Zionists invading their country?
What about the 1400 Palestinians murdered by Israel in 2008 or the over 2000 in 2014? How about the illegal abduction of palestinian CHILDREN and detaining them for years for throwing stones at their oppressors.
Not to mention the blocking of aid and bombing of civilians.
I don't think it's right for any innocent people to die like they did on October 7th but Israel has tortured Palestinians for decades so its no wonder why some become terrorists.

Apartheid in this case meaning treated as foreign citizens in another country, exactly like all other countries do. To trivialise such a word by applying it to standard global procedure is abhorrent and unspeakably offensive, it really is.

The idea that you can kill tens of thousands mostly terrified children and civilian women and then squeak about being “offended” is a little tone deaf.

Palestine is the invaded country! People shouldn't fight back after 80 years of having their families murderd, forcefully displaced, had their homes stolen by settlers from Texas claiming that "god" promised them this land?
You don't think that living under apartheid and seeing you and your kids living under the occupiers torture could force you to take drastic actions of violence against your oppressors?

The people on the hate marches are neither miserable nor beleaguered but rather emboldened and clearly violent. They're the crass thugs raising tensions and it's dangerous and out of control.

I think many do have sympathy for Jewish people who feel unsafe in their vicinity and I don’t think the recent PA action has moved the public in a positive way.

People mostly don’t want these kinds of threats here.

Palestinians did not "start" this. By 1949 Zionist invading forces had taken more than 78 percent of historic Palestine, ethnically cleansed and destroyed about 530 villages and cities, and killed about 15,000 Palestinians in a series of mass atrocities, including more than 70 massacres. In the decades following Israel continued to displace, torture and kill Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied west Bank. Making their little strip of land smaller and smaller and treating them like 2nd class citizens in their own county but when some Palestinians try to fight back against the invaders they are the "terrorists"?

Echobelly · 25/06/2025 11:05

I need a bit more context than a partisan clip on x on this before I could comment. I am Jewish and unfortunately there have been incidents where pro-Israel types have turned up to be provocative and started filming only once they've provoked people and then gone 'oh how antisemitic that we've got in trouble' Obviously if that's the case the others shouldn't have risen to abusing them back, but we don't know what they were saying.

Maybe it was just unfortunate they ran into pro-Palestine people who abused them, or maybe they turned up deliberately and gloated about Palestinian deaths at them. I can't tell from that clip. Unfortunately it's pretty hard to know what to trust these days.

Would you be more comfortable with “slaughter”?

It’s disgusting isn’t it? There is not even the remotest possibility that any government, religion or group could convince me that murdering children is the right thing to do. Never in a million years. My sense of humanity would never permit me to sanction that.
