This is just unbelievable. These ‘protesters’ are being given free rein to threaten and assault pro-Israelis (Jewish) because ‘there’s 500 of them and 2 of you’.

Police not interested in doing their job, which is upholding the law I thought?

Just sickening that this country has come to this.

At this juncture and after Brize Norton, the Palestine flag could be considered a flag that represents being anti British in addition anti Israel and anti Jew.
That is not helping Palestine folk is it?
Just stop oil shenanigans didn’t help their cause either. It merely pushed people to judge them negatively.

I think there’s many thinking that. It’s not often all parties would agree on something. Proscribing them terrorists.

Most people do not see the Palestinian flag as a symbol of terror and hate. You missed that bit.

The planes must have been terrified.

I heard the plane was so offended that a bit of paint was called terrorism when actual terrorism is going on right now.

Sadly for some support for the group won’t be legal anymore.

It isn't genocide in any way, shape or form. The way the word is so misused when there are actual genocides going on right now is offensive. Pro-Palestinians are easily offended even to the point of violence as the incident in the OP shows yet again, yet there's still quibbling about their own grossly offensive inaccurate appropriation of serious terminology. It's so hypocritical.

Definition of Genocide = Acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such," including:

  • Killing members of the group - I think it's safe to say Israel has a big tick on this one. Since 1949 Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians murdered and starved tp death by Israel.
  • Causing serious bodily or mental harm - Israel despite having precision technology when it suits them has chosen to carpet bomb large civilian areas, in many cases telling the people ahead of time that these were safe zones only to burn them alive in tents when they get there.
  • Deliberately inflicting conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction - bombing hospitals, blocking aid so people starve.
  • Imposing measures to prevent births - attacking hospitals and letting babies rot in incubators, blocking access to baby formula, blocking food so women can't breastfeed,
  • Forcibly transferring children - at the end of 2024 there were 163 Palestinian children taken and detained without trial by Israel. Since then Israel have refused to release the numbers.

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck it's a duck

What is PA? I still don’t know what you’re talking about. Are you meant to be responding to someone else?

No to you. Do you follow the news? Did you see the recent proscription of PA as a terrorist organisation after attacking an air base.

That’s more likely to be current for the public than Gaza. In fact it probably has rare cross party support to proscribe.

Most British people will want Jewish people to feel safe. Don’t you want that?

Outside mn and the CITME board (I’m sure you know that you’re on it) I very much doubt the feelings are shared.

The public don’t want to have the disruption of the protests, they don’t want terrorism in anyone’s name and those actions just put people off it all.

I know you’ll be you don’t get it, that’s part of the problem here. Just a blank. It won’t get you the support though.

PA are the group who broke into a military base in the uk and painted graffiti on some planes, I think?

Human rights groups have slammed the Trump administration’s push to take over Gaza and forcibly displace Palestinians as a violation of international law amounting to ethnic cleansing.

Who should we believe. You, or maybe actually established human rights groups?? I know who I believe.

Trump’s Gaza ‘plan’: What it is, why it’s unworkable and globally rejected

Happy to replace genocide with “slaughter and mutilation if tens of thousands of women and children with the intent to eradicate the population” is it really means something different to you?

My best friend's nan came from apartheid south Africa where she wasn't even acknowledged as a human being. Do you have any idea how distressing it is to her and her family to have the word cheapened and misused like that?

Well my family went through an actual genocide in the twentieth century and I am not at all distressed by anyone using the word “genocide” to describe a genocide. And my actual father who was actually imprisoned without trial and actually tortured, not to mention my family members who were actually beaten and my people who were actually murdered by the score would all agree that this is a genocide.

Believe it or not, people who have actually experienced such events are better placed than you who knows someone who knows someone to be able to say what genocide is. What apartheid is. And what oppression is.

But yeah, well done on your attempts at victimhood.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 25/06/2025 11:52

PhilomenaPunk · 25/06/2025 11:47

Feelings are clearly more important than actual genocide in this case. I mean how dare we call a spade a spade? We should be ashamed of ourselves for hurting feelings. The thousands of dead and mutilated children are of no matter to hurt feelings.

Well my connection to this woman would be anonymous poster on the internets, best friend’s grandmother, so I’m going to guess I wouldn’t know how she felt (and that you might not either). However I DO know some people who suffered under apartheid in SA and they are very sympathetic to the Palestinian experience.

I need a bit more context than a partisan clip on x on this before I could comment. I am Jewish and unfortunately there have been incidents where pro-Israel types have turned up to be provocative and started filming only once they've provoked people and then gone 'oh how antisemitic that we've got in trouble' Obviously if that's the case the others shouldn't have risen to abusing them back, but we don't know what they were saying.

Maybe it was just unfortunate they ran into pro-Palestine people who abused them, or maybe they turned up deliberately and gloated about Palestinian deaths at them. I can't tell from that clip. Unfortunately it's pretty hard to know what to trust these days.

Exactly. Very hard to tell from clip. I’ve been at many protest marches for various things over my whole life and less so at counter protests. And the counter protesters are always kept separate from main protest to stop trouble. It has nothing to do with flags per se.

I was at a counter protest for a far right rally recently and I’d have been insane to walk into the main protest with my “Hate has no home here” sign.

I couldn’t get what you were trying to say, but see you couldn’t answer clearly.

Given Hamas brutalised Israelis on October 7th and do the same to people in Gaza the protests should be to get rid of Hamas. As the braver people of Gaza tried.

As it is people wanting sympathy from the public on the protests here are unlikely to get it outside CITME board. People don’t want PA type actions, nor anything making Jewish people feel unsafe.

The idea that you can kill tens of thousands mostly terrified children and civilian women and then squeak about being “offended” is a little tone deaf.

How on earth can you know what you would do or how you would feel if you had grown up in Palestine? It’s not like some leafy suburb of London 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm in a Liverpool sink estate that is in one of the most deprived areas in Europe. We don't have much in common with the pro-Palestines from the leafy London suburbs.

PhilomenaPunk · 25/06/2025 11:43

EasternStandard · 25/06/2025 11:40

What is your answer here, rather than another question.

If it is a no the reason is Hamas’ brutality. The people too are subject to it. So whilst they may want to protest Hamas make it lethal to do so.
