I don’t trust anything on enriched uranium being sold in as peaceful.

What do you think of the Iranian regime?

I try not to think of it as a "regime" as I see that as a very western way of labelling a system they do not agree with.

The Ayatollahs are the ultimate result of the UK/US orchestrated coup in 1953 to install the Shah.

I think it's up to the 90 million Iranians to decide how they want to be governed.
During the election last year there was very lively and open debate over the candidates (I know people who absolutely hate the current reformist government).

Perhaps because of your curious turn of phrase or possible typo.?

Why is skin colour relevant?

I wouldn't call it a curious turn of phrase id call it a genuine sick of being dragged into American wars against terror when in reality it has a scaremongering agenda behind it, if Israeli prime minister aster had Arab skin he would of been vilified already

Wondering where people who are certain Iran poses no desire or threat re a nuclear weapon are, and why they are so certain.

The IAEA has been compromised as an organisation, Grossi recently addressed Iran obtaining secret documents related to the Israeli nuclear program. Also there are allegations that it leaked the names of Iranian Nuclear scientists.

It's all very murky.

Ok I can’t see this as assurance enough.

We’ve had agreements in place to stop it as it’s a threat no one wants.

And recently this report was issued

The global nuclear watchdog's board of governors has formally declared Iran in breach of its non-proliferation obligations for the first time in 20 years.

Nineteen of the 35 countries on the board of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) voted for the motion, which was backed by the US, UK, France and Germany.

It says Iran's "many failures" to provide the IAEA with full answers about its undeclared nuclear material and activities constitutes non-compliance. It also expresses concern about Iran's stockpile of enriched uranium, which can be used to make reactor fuel but also nuclear weapons.

Iran condemned the resolution as "political" and said it would open a new enrichment facility.

It follows a report from the IAEA last week which criticised Iran's "general lack of co-operation" and said it had enough uranium enriched to 60% purity, near weapons grade, to potentially make nine nuclear bombs.

Yes I do know there were more than 3 but Fordow was the main one.

I think you’re just swallowing Iranian propaganda if you believe the US hasn’t obliterated Fordor.

Looking like bravado .. I don’t think so. I think the bombing was highly successful from the US point of view.

Edited

There is many nuclear bases in iran i think its more in UK we are force fed American propaganda, iran has never used nuclear weapons. Israel however has nuclear weapons and after the genocide.of palestine and the behavior I dont think israel can be trusted with a water gun

Here

However, Kelsey Davenport, director for non-proliferation policy at the US-based Arms Control Association, told the BBC on Friday that Israel's prime minister "did not present any clear or compelling evidence that Iran was on the brink of weaponizing".
"Iran has been at a near-zero breakout for months," she told the BBC, referring to the time it would take Iran to acquire enough fissile material for one bomb if it chose to do so.
"Similarly, the assessment that Iran could develop a crude nuclear weapon within a few months is not new."
She said some of Iran's nuclear activities would be applicable to developing a bomb, but US intelligence agencies had assessed that Iran was not engaged in key weaponization work.
This March, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard told Congress that Iran's stockpile of enriched uranium was "at its highest levels" and "unprecedented for a state without nuclear weapons".
But Gabbard also said the US intelligence community "continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon and Supreme Leader [Ayatollah Ali] Khamenei has not authorised the nuclear weapons programme that he suspended in 2003".

The only thing I’ve heard before the strikes on the enriched uranium from Iran is it was a ‘deterrent’

In the answer to why did you have this?

The stuff about not wanting to get there beforehand sounds deeply dishonest and concerning

Why? This isn't me just making stuff up. Netanyahu said they were trying to build a bomb but many other experts have said they were not. I mean you can disagree with their intelligence if you want to but it doesn't mean those who consider it credible are 'dishonest'

I don't think the regime will race towards building a nuclear bomb just because the people call for it - that's if they do decide to. I think it will be based on the need for what they may justify as a 'deterrant' after the strikes by Israel and the US.

Unfortunately they're going to continue as this battle is an existential threat to both countries survival.

Personally, I didn’t see Irans nuclear development as a threat, it was and still is (for now) a peaceful nuclear program. Due to sanctions Iran needed a way to provide cheap energy to it's citizens.

The Ayatollahs Fatwa against building a nuclear weapon was also another guarantee. I've watched with fascination people berate Iran for the last 20 months for not getting directly involved militarily to stop what's happening in Gaza. As we've seen in the last 10 days their conventional rockets are extremely capable.

Now after Netanyahu's and Trump’s violations of sovereignty, I'm in agreement with something Professor John Mearsheimer said years ago.

"If nations like Iran don’t get nukes, predators like the US and Israel will rip them to shreds without hesitation.

North Korea got the memo, disarmament is a death sentence.
The only way to survive in this world is to be armed to the teeth."

To restore the balance if power in the region, either it must be completely denuclearized (including Israel) or countries allowed to arm themselves.

Interesting from an Iranian journalist who was interviewed this morning.

Asked where the majority of public opinion is, he said: "For the first time in four or five decades I see a solidarity among the Iranian people which was never seen inside Iran before.
"We probably had this solidarity during the Iran-Iraq war and now it is back again.
"If you walk through the Iranian streets everyone is asking for a hard response, especially against Israel.
"And now everyone is questioning why the nuclear bomb is not being produced."

This could just spur the government who were previously not building a bomb, to go right ahead and do it if they have saved the uranium.

Does it matter to the regime what the people think?

It hasn’t so far. Women have spoken up and had brutal consequences.

Iran have said they moved most of the highly enriched uranium from Fordow before the strikes. They could be lying, but if they are saying the truth then those strikes didn't achieve what they set out to do.

Twiglets I'm not going to bother arguing with you as it's a waste of my time.

If not wanting thousands of Iranians to die, including people I know and care about is "supporting Iran" then so be it my conscious is clear.

You continue believing the same neocons that have lied us into every middle east misadventure/intervention. I will stand with the majority of Americans (including veterans) who are against this.

By the way i24 is the outlet where the 40 beheaded babies lie originated.
