I think it has got rather confusing because Iran did send missiles into Israel just before the ceasefire was due to begin.

But Israel are also accusing them of sending more after the ceasefire had started.

I just saw him talking to reporters before boarding his plane ...wow!

He is just as angry with Israel as with Iran, maybe more so.

He said both sides broke the ceasefire though maybe not intentionally.

Typical Trump bluntness, "We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don't know what the fuck they're doing".

NY Times reported that Iran's missiles struck just before ceasefire was agreed. Who knows. Apparently Trump now saying to Israel to bring their pilots home and don't drop any more bombs.

Why is Trump really unhappy with Israel? Doesn't make sense they were working together on striking Iran. Strange.

Iran claimed they didn't so im guessing there was a miscommunication with orders as they clearly did. But by claiming they didnt i think they do want the ceasefire to hold. They have more to lose than Israel does if the war continues.

Israel has vowed to strike targets in the “heart of Tehran” after Iran violated a ceasefire agreement by launching a new missile attack.

The Israeli military said two ballistic missiles were launched from Iran this morning, forcing civilians into bomb shelters once again as sirens rang out in northern Israel.

Israel Katz, the defence minister, said he had instructed the IDF to “respond forcefully” to the ceasefire violation by launching strikes against targets in Tehran.

I spent six months in Iran last year, work related. It's not what people think, I travelled extensively. In Tehran I'd estimate 30% of women never wore any form of hair covering, just jeans and t-shirts mainly.
I spoke with a lot of Iranians, there isn't a great number of foreigners in the country some I had some novelty value. There is some dissatisfaction with the government mainly regarding the sanctions that show no sign of being removed but everyone seems to hold Khameini in the highest regard.
The academics I spoke with said the country was rapidly progressing in terms of personal freedom. It certainly isn't Afghanistan. The idea that people are going to rise up and overthrow the government as a result of this military action is ridiculous propaganda to justify the use of force.

Both Iran and Israel have agreed to a ceasefire.

Hopefully that is the end of the fighting between these 2 countries and this will be remembered as the 12 day war.

It’s so reckless. It’s all incredibly worrying. I haven’t read anything at all that has anything positive to say about it. Except the “if you don’t want to bomb Iran, you must be pro iran” crowd on here. Which is beyond ridiculous and I can’t even engage with it.

Israel are being led by extremists, The US is sliding into a dictatorship and now we are actually counting on one of the world’s worst regimes to have some kind of measured response! Not a lot of hope.

Nazanin spoke out against the strike on the prison today. She was extremely worried for the physical and mental well being of the other prisoners being held there.

Yes Evin prison is where political prisoners are held. Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe was held here. Many women political prisoners. There are other types of prisoners too.

It’s a message I suppose but it must have been terrifying for the prisoners locked in cells who already live in hell by the sounds of it.

Wonder how Israel and US citizens will feel about sending troops into Iran if the regime collapses and their puppet doesn’t immediately get the crown- which would not be surprising:

Israel must now focusing on regime change.
Not surprising really- as no-one knows outside of Iran whether the enriched uranium has been destroyed together with all the centrifuges. Iran has said they can now legally withdraw from the non-proliferation treaty. That means no iaea inspectors in Iran.

If things were deemed dangerous before- they’ve probably got a lot more so.
Trump from saying no to regime change is now changing his tune. Netanyahu has played his hand very well in terms of influencing Trump but if there is no regime change…
Interestingly - quite clear from an International law lawyer - actions purposefully done to cause regime change is illegal.
Regime change rarely goes smoothly - thinking about Afghanistan and Iraq.
Unless US wants to get involved in Israel’s forever wars - need to return to diplomacy,

People were injured. Others were terrified. This is a blatant act of aggression, not something to celebrate.
