Many of you will already have read about this. Paediatric specialist Dr Alaa al-Najjar was on duty when the bodies of nine of her 10 children were received by her in the hospital, after a strike in Khan Younis hit her home.

This report just stopped me in my tracks. I don't know what to say beyond this. I cannot stop thinking about this poor woman tonight.

er children killed by a strike in Khan Younis. Guardian link

Thank you for proving my point so perfectly I couldn't have scripted it better myself.

Notice what just happened: I pointed out that posters make ritual disclaimers about Hamas then return to obsessive focus on Israeli actions. Your response? Zero engagement with that observation. Instead, you've gone straight back to emotional appeals about "brutal occupiers" and "children dying right now."

You say this has been "answered time and time again" but you haven't answered it at all. You've deflected from it by claiming the thread is "about a family" - except this thread stopped being about that specific family dozens of posts ago when it became a general condemnation of Israeli war conduct and accusations of systematic genocide.

You've just recited a series of casualty figures as if they're established facts. But where do these numbers come from? The "18,000 children killed" - that's from the Hamas-controlled health ministry. The "1000 healthcare workers killed" - same source. These are the same people who initially claimed 500 died in the hospital blast that turned out to be a misfired rocket in a parking lot. These are the same people that committed such sexual atrocities on October 7 that this post might be deleted if I document them.

You're treating Hamas casualty reports as gospel truth while simultaneously ignoring them as a meaningful actor in this conflict. The same organisation that started this war, that uses hospitals as command centers, that maximises civilian casualties for propaganda purposes.

You've just demonstrated exactly the pattern I described: emotional manipulation, unverified statistics from interested parties, and complete avoidance of engaging with the substance of what I said about the intellectual dishonesty of this discourse.

The fact that you can't even acknowledge this pattern exists - let alone examine it - proves it's not about the children at all. It is about demonising Israel.

I have answered it, on this thread, in response to a similar question by you. You asked why we are focusing on Israel rather than Syria etc… I already answered that. Attacking people for posting facts is completely DARVO, you can not defend these figures so instead you attack us and accuse us of being biased, of being pro Hamas when everyone on this thread has actually agreed they hate Hamas.

The figures we post are relevant to the thread, a thread where children and doctors had their home bombed.

Here is one reply I have given you already on this thread when you asked why we were not talking about Syria and other war crimes:

”The thing is I have not heard anyone say “oh Assad is a great man” if they did I would be posting data and links to articles that show that he is a war criminal who brutally murdered his own people. If anyone said “all the rebels in Syria are great” I would explain how there are 20+ different groups and some of them are pretty awful too. Happy to talk about Syria and the blatant human rights abuses there, the complexity of the situation etc…

Again if anyone defended the Taliban in Afghanistan or indeed the British and US governments who abandoned people to the Taliban, many of whom had been employed by the UK and US and were certain to be executed. Honestly I have had huge rants and cried tears for those poor people and am still very angry at how the west abandoned them.

It is largely agreed in the west (apart from a small number of extremists) that Assad is a criminal, the Taliban are criminals etc… we don’t have boards dedicated to debating it as we would all just be agreeing with each other. The figures from these conflicts are not disputed, the murdered are universally recognised as innocent victims. The thousands of images of people tortured to death in Syria was never called fake or Syriawood.

The problem lies with Israel’s manipulation of the media, shutting off a war zone to international press and then denying the testimony of doctors, amputees, UN workers, journalists, victims… The problem lies in justifying the death of children, debating the death tolls and attacking the UN, Amnesty International, most major newspapers. Israel is committing war crimes and spending millions on gaslighting anyone who calls them out on it.”

@Stripes56 Did you see Natasha Hausdorff doing the same thing. You know the more tragic the event the more the seeds of doubt need to be planted.

Have to follow the narrative.

Stripes56 · 07/06/2025 18:06

@AIBUHere
Why are you investing so much effort in discrediting the story? If not this family - how about all the other families and multiple children killed. I can’t remember one other family that has been highlighted like this- it brings a human face to the tragedy which pulls at people’s heart strings. Is that what bothers you?

Are you doubting this woman’s family even existed, that they died?

It’s despicable that people are generating AI images of her and her family, but more despicable that people are doubting that there may a family who has suffered such loss.

I have copied the threads as separate links in case anyone interested (I doubt there will much) doesn’t have an X account.

Anyone wanting to dismiss the sources should also remember that Hamas controls the Gazan sources and I don’t take a proscribed terrorist organisation, whose main weapon is propaganda, as a credible source unlike much of the MSM. I also don’t believe stuff on X unless it is backed up by evidence.

Any unbiased media outlet would have investigated this by now but the story seems to have run it’s course with the damage it was intended to do, done.

Posters think they are so clever. They can provide a non-stop commentary of the moral vacuousness of Israel, make opposition to the IDF the animating purpose of their politics, repeat anti-Israel lies, progoganda and half-truths. Assume bad faith by Israel and those defending the war. And act as if Hamas doesn't exist. And then when someone says that they are not balanced, they just say "but of course I do not support Hamas" before going back to their anti Israel obsession and pro-Hamas propaganda.

I can't speak for everyone, but I genuinely did not expect Israel to flout international law and cause the level of humanitarian crisis that we've seen. Unfortunately yes I do expect it from Hamas, and hopefully this war will be the end of them. But I do not believe Israel are acting in good faith, they've been as guilty of lies and propaganda and there is plenty of evidence for war crimes. Rogue states and terrorist groups are unfortunately familiar territory, but I didn't put Israel in that category which is why I've posted that I can't support them any longer after the way they've conducted this war and their domestic policy of settlements and mistreatment.
One reason it gets so much attention is because this is apparently controversial. I mean, we (the UK) are supposedly their ally so yes it is kind of a shocker. And the repeated denials of everything coming out of Gaza is difficult to leave alone too - dismissing reports by medical personnel who are there for purely humanitarian reasons. When people are that wilfully blind then it does provoke discussion.

That was strange , your post was deleted then reinstated there, but are you really suggesting the parents sacrificed 9 of their children and the dad too????

ssd · 07/06/2025 13:58

I cant understand what @AIBUHere means either. And how do they know exactly what happened on that day? I thought it was a strike that hit their house, but @AIBUHere is intimating there is more to it and i want to ask what it is?

AIBUHere · 07/06/2025 13:55

Badh · 07/06/2025 13:51

Where is the information that everyone else in the area had evacuated? and that the kids were alone in the house. I thought her husband (who has now died of his injuries) had just returned?

It’s difficult for people to evacuate right now as most of Gaza has been evacuated and there are places under evacuation with no safe route out of them. MSF have said this about Nasser hospital.

What are you suggesting @AIBUHere ?

Can you think of a reason, EVERYONE ELSE in the area evacuated but this family didn’t, conveniently the children were in the home alone when it happened.

There are gaping holes in this story, it doesn’t make sense, and it has not been independently verified.

I am suggesting that either Pallywood is on it’s way to an Oscar, the parents were criminally negligent OR they subscribed to Al-Hayya’s confirmed intent to sacrifice themselves for the Muslim
ummah which would not be surprising to anyone with a brain considering the ‘martyrdom’ ideology over there which has decades of evidence. Absolutely sickening to us in the West but not out of the realms of possibility considering the masses of videos of Palestinian parents stating openly they want their kids to be martyrs,

Let me be clear, I don’t believe anything unverified that comes out of Gaza and I question the intelligence and agenda of those who do considering this is a propaganda war.

Badh · 07/06/2025 13:05

Some posts are so deluded basically that I think we are weary of breaking them down and answering their claims now. The numbers aren’t correct. We are all Hamas supporters. Look at Sudan.

I just suggested it because you seem quite angry that people are not engaging with your "theories" on a thread like this so maybe it's own one would give it the airtime it deserves.

And while the thread has moved on when you posted this @AIBUHere was being asked why they suggested the victim of the thread title did not evacuate which is a very important point that I would hate to get lost.

This thread stopped being about that specific family when it became genocide accusations and conspiracy theories about "hasbara apps." Nobody asked those posters to start separate threads. But when a person pushes back against it, they are asked to go elsewhere.

I have read the same post written by you multiple times at this stage . It is clear you are very passionate on the subject perhaps it's own thread would give it the consideration you feel it deserves.

Nope your post was a deflection and a circular argument that has been answered time and time again. This thread is about a family, doctors and their children targeted by the IDF.

Children are dying, right now, at the hands of brutal occupiers who see them as less than human. Entire family lines are being wiped out. Doctors who dedicate their lives to healing are being targeted, erased from existence. One died in this bombing alongside his nine children, targeted at home. Over 1000 healthcare workers have been killed by the IDF during this genocide. At least two doctors were tortured to death in captivity. At least 160 remain in captivity in Israel. Over 18,000 children have been killed by the IDF. No where else on earth has as many child amputees.

Thank you for proving my point so perfectly I couldn't have scripted it better myself.

I offered an explanation previously on the evacuation orders.
They are not given with enough warning. Giving evacuation orders does not give you carte blanche to start bombing residential areas. This is one of the reasons for the ICJ warrant.

Gaza has been bombed unbelievably. So if your building is standing where do you evacuate to? Most buildings are bombed, or they're stuffed to the gills with refugees. Buildings are damaged and not safe.
The "refugee camps" are completely full.
What do you do if you don't have a tent? Live in the horrendously crowded camp with no shelter (that probably has no space for you) or live on the street?
Tent areas are still bombed. Streets are bombed.
You may decide, with the absolutely stark choices facing you that "at least I have a building here, I might escape it being bombed".

Where do Gazans go exactly? Everywhere is full, full of people due to the immense loss of housing stock.

If you have no transport, how do you move your children and your basic necessities (food, something to cook on, pots, water holders, blankets).

If you're at work or trying to get food or supplies, what do you do? Gazans now have to walk miles for food and water.

If you're sick/injured/maimed, disabled have family who are sick, injured, maimed, disabled how do you physically move them? How do you move yourself?

If you're suffering from malnutrition doing anything is extremely laborious and tough on your body.

Giving evacuation orders in breach of international law is not a rationale or justification for bombing civilians. Don't just take it up with me but with the ICJ. Let Netanyahu go on trial and defend himself.

Exactly

They were not ‘targeted’. They were told to evacuate. Unlike everyone else in the area, they didn’t.

Why was that?

Mayaswell die by IDF airstrikes in the warmth and comfort of their home than take shelter in a school or a tent that they were "evacuated" to with other refugees and be bombed there.
