Many of you will already have read about this. Paediatric specialist Dr Alaa al-Najjar was on duty when the bodies of nine of her 10 children were received by her in the hospital, after a strike in Khan Younis hit her home.

This report just stopped me in my tracks. I don't know what to say beyond this. I cannot stop thinking about this poor woman tonight.

er children killed by a strike in Khan Younis. Guardian link

I think so too. As I said before the thread on the murdered Palestinian film maker was enlightening for me . It was a complete deflection and then the thread was pulled.
The goal is clear here.

Interesting theory.

@RandomWordsThrownTogether
Thank you for the link. I hope Adam gets the support he needs.
On latest Rest is Politics UK podcast- someone asked what we can do to help people in Gaza. Alistair Campbell referred to a quote made by Jucinda Ardern to Donald Trump after the Christchurch massacre about how he might be able help. She told him to be kind to his Muslim communities.

It made me think about how much Muslims around the world must have been suffering too seeing members of their community being slaughtered. It is also something that is so difficult to talk about openly.

I think the poster is saying despicable ludicrous things to elicit an angry response, likely to try and get people thrown off the boards or simply to cause upset - who knows.

When the IDF shot at the civilians trying to recieve aid they did the same thing then. It was apparently all lies or the Palestinians are just trying to demonise the IDF because why would those fluffy bunnies attack civilians. Once the IDF admitted it was them then suddenly crickets.

Yes, I hadn't read this thread for the last couple of days and when I read it now that was what came to mind too.

Whatsinanamehey · 07/06/2025 19:23

It's just gaslighting and more gaslighting. Not even some of the pro Israel extremists on X have gone so far to deny it.

I don’t know and nor do you.

Look it up, interviews with international doctors who worked with the doctors, video, photos. Yes it is verified, yes the IDF killed them. Honestly what are you trying to suggest. I have also not heard Israel deny it. When Adam, the only survivor, makes it to Italy for treatment what will you say then?

Nine of Gazan doctor's 10 children killed in Israeli strike on Khan Younis

Graphic footage shared by the Hamas-run Palestinian Civil Defence shows the bodies of small children being pulled from rubble in southern Gaza.

Or said it didn't happen at all.

Fuckin hell is right.

It's despicable and an absolutely shitty thing to do on a thread mourning this loss of innocent life. Some people have lost their fucking minds whilst trying to defend every single actions of the IDF.

Stripes56 · 07/06/2025 19:18

I think somebody needs to come of SM for a bit or look up some photos of fluffy kittens. It must really twist your idea of what is acceptable.

We are 27 pages into this thread and there's one poster who throughout the entire thread has tried to lay the blame of the murder of these children on anyone except for the IDF who carried out the murders. Fucking hell.

Whose going to verify it?

The IDF🤣

Created for? What do you mean?

Stripes56 · 07/06/2025 19:08

The desperation to discount her suffering is pretty telling. They should have evacuated, questioning the children’s death, and back to - they were Hamas (the eldest child was 12).

The media has possibly run with this- because it does bring a human face to the obvious suffering.
When you are talking about only numbers - even when it’s 10s of thousands of innocent people being killed - people can’t really grasp what it means.

The last link the @AIBUHere posted was of a Piers Morgan X post saying how despicable it was to doubt the deaths.

At the time of their murder 80% of Gaza was declared a combat zone. How can 2 million people have evacuated into a tiny little area? It's next to impossible and inhumane to expect them to.

Whatsinanamehey · 07/06/2025 19:11

AIBUHere · 07/06/2025 18:50

Surely it’s imperative that is verified?

What should be verified? Are you doubting that they were killed? The IDF haven't posted a statement denying it.

Stripes56 · 07/06/2025 19:08

Martymcfly24 · 07/06/2025 18:49

Agree. There are so many families that have completely been wiped out so there is no one to tell their story.

I agree that this doctors suffering is a symbol which is why is it is imperative that her story needs to be discredited.

And there are so many other families and children that this could have been about.

It feels - for me- that this doctor’s suffering is a symbol for the suffering of the Palestinian population.

Exactly what it was created for. Well done.

@AIBUHere
Why are you investing so much effort in discrediting the story? If not this family - how about all the other families and multiple children killed. I can’t remember one other family that has been highlighted like this- it brings a human face to the tragedy which pulls at people’s heart strings. Is that what bothers you?

Are you doubting this woman’s family even existed, that they died?

It’s despicable that people are generating AI images of her and her family, but more despicable that people are doubting that there may a family who has suffered such loss.

Have you got anything to say that refutes my posts?

How is it ‘despicable’ to want verified facts.

It’s language like that which fuels this terrorist propaganda.

Stripes56 · 07/06/2025 18:42

Martymcfly24 · 07/06/2025 18:20

@Stripes56 Did you see Natasha Hausdorff doing the same thing. You know the more tragic the event the more the seeds of doubt need to be planted.

Have to follow the narrative.

Thank you for proving my point so perfectly I couldn't have scripted it better myself.

Notice what just happened: I pointed out that posters make ritual disclaimers about Hamas then return to obsessive focus on Israeli actions. Your response? Zero engagement with that observation. Instead, you've gone straight back to emotional appeals about "brutal occupiers" and "children dying right now."

You say this has been "answered time and time again" but you haven't answered it at all. You've deflected from it by claiming the thread is "about a family" - except this thread stopped being about that specific family dozens of posts ago when it became a general condemnation of Israeli war conduct and accusations of systematic genocide.

You've just recited a series of casualty figures as if they're established facts. But where do these numbers come from? The "18,000 children killed" - that's from the Hamas-controlled health ministry. The "1000 healthcare workers killed" - same source. These are the same people who initially claimed 500 died in the hospital blast that turned out to be a misfired rocket in a parking lot. These are the same people that committed such sexual atrocities on October 7 that this post might be deleted if I document them.

You're treating Hamas casualty reports as gospel truth while simultaneously ignoring them as a meaningful actor in this conflict. The same organisation that started this war, that uses hospitals as command centers, that maximises civilian casualties for propaganda purposes.

You've just demonstrated exactly the pattern I described: emotional manipulation, unverified statistics from interested parties, and complete avoidance of engaging with the substance of what I said about the intellectual dishonesty of this discourse.

The fact that you can't even acknowledge this pattern exists - let alone examine it - proves it's not about the children at all. It is about demonising Israel.

Oh and in terms of casualties, we have also discussed that on this thread. The actual figures are likely much much higher than those reported. The figures we report do elicit an emotional response because they relate to people being killed.

“Unicef report that there are now more than 50,000 children dead and injured in Gaza! Since the end of the ceasefire in March, a further 1,309 children have been killed and 3,738 injured!
Edouard Beigbeder, UNICEF Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa said:

“These children – lives that should never be reduced to numbers – are now part of a long, harrowing list of unimaginable horrors: the grave violations against children, the blockade of aid, the starvation, the constant forced displacement, and the destruction of hospitals, water systems, schools, and homes. In essence, the destruction of life itself in the Gaza Strip.

Since the end of the ceasefire on March 18, 1,309 children have reportedly been killed and 3,738 injured. In total, more than 50,000 children have reportedly been killed or injured since October 2023. How many more dead girls and boys will it take? What level of horror must be livestreamed before the international community fully steps up, uses its influence, and takes bold, decisive action to force the end of this ruthless killing of children?”

https://www.unicefusa.org/press/unimaginable-horrors-more-50000-children-reportedly-killed-or-injured-gaza-strip

The economist are reporting that the death toll
is likely much higher than reported figures. They have explained how the death toll only includes people who have been identified and as thousands have not been recovered from the rubble they are not included in the official data. They estimate that the death toll is likely much higher than reported and could be as high as between 77,000 and 109,000. This accounts for approximately 1 in 20 of Gaza’s pre war inhabitants dead. They also explain the death toll only includes people killed by bombs and bullets, it does not include people who have died from malnutrition or from health conditions caused by the blockade.

“The researchers found that the overlap was so small that the true number of deaths was probably 46-107% higher than the official ministry total. If you assume that the ratio has stayed the same since last June (and not fallen, as systems caught up during the ceasefire, say) and apply them to the current tally, it would suggest that between 77,000 and 109,000 Gazans have been killed, 4-5% of the territory’s pre-war population.”
