Funny, I have spoken of my sympathy for Israelis on this thread. I'd be some human if I couldn't empathise with a person's pain, no matter who that person is. Everyone has the capacity to suffer and I'm so fed up of suffering.
That doesn't take away from my utter heartbreak at this woman's plight. I actually cannot fathom it.
There's pain everywhere and genuinely it's upsetting. I can acknowledge that Hamas have done wrong but I can also acknowledge that Israel have done wrong. The latter hurts me because - and I don't want this to sound trite - I expected better from Israel. I genuinely did not think I'd be listening to the comments I posted previously (all in a previous post).I did not think Israel would keep up a siege for months while people are starving and dying for basic medical supplies. I did not think it would shoot at diplomats and UN peacekeepers. I did not think it would engage with ISIS supporters in such underhand ways. I did not think it would shoot paramedics, lie about it and then admit it. I did not think it would ignore decades of humanitarian expertise and set up a wholly inadequate new agency. I did not think it would kill medics, journalists and refuse entry to independent war journalists. And there's so much more.
Could you say I'm wrong from expecting more from Israel than Hamas? Maybe, but I don't think so.

It’s not enough to show no support for Hamas- for some posters you can’t show sympathy for Palestinians without also showing sympathy for Israelis.

Even on a post speaking about the horror of one Gazan woman seeing multiple members of her family having been killed.

Yes I would also like to know who this is directed to as no one on these threads that I have seen has denied the horrors of October 7th, though many have denied the horrors that have happened since. I also haven’t seen anti semitic posts or pro Hamas posts so if there were some and I am mistaken please share.

I know there are sick people in the world that deny such things just as there are sick people who deny that the IDF have committed unspeakable crimes against humanity too. Both sides have their murders, rapists and both sides have sick people who take pleasure in torturing other human beings. The Hamas militants who carried out those crimes are monsters, but that does not give the IDF the right to kill children, torture doctors and unleash horrors on the population. Those who have committed war crimes on both sides are disgusting and should be condemned by everyone.

Hi, people project their worse fears onto the Jews/Jewish state and turn them/it into the living embodiment of the demons that lay within. And then, for example, they scream genocide while them themselves actually support genocidal groups or deny genocidal acts against the Jews, as is happening with the denial about October 7. People were marching and accusing Israel of genocide in the days after October 7 before Israel had even started a military response.

Thank you. Yeah but it is truly shocking that people don't believe it. They are so keen to believe that Israel is the new Nazi Germany that they are prepared to throw away all semblance of morality to achieve it. Such is their fixation on Jews. Every accusation is a confession.

Yes, there is a reason why experienced UN (based and affiliated) and NGOs work in these environments. These organisations have the skillset required, have the experience, know what they are doing.
I understand that Israel had concerns about UN relief in that area (that is what it stated I believe; I've yet to see any real proof, plus some aid getting through is better than none to starving people is a whole other argument) however they are many NGO's that are third country based, proven neutrality, have experience delivering large amounts of aid to immediate, disastrous and war torn environments. They don't need weapons or barbed wire stations to deliver aid. I still don't understand how one or an amalgamation of same could not be approached.
Israel has continually denigrated the UN in this. It shoots at peacekeepers and makes allegations about it. I wonder why.

The degradation these people must be suffering is mind blowing.

I totally agree about Christian families suffering too.

Chronic UTIs- poor women. Sanitary products, antibiotics, fuel, water - basic humanitarian needs that have been blocked needlessly.

I heard on the radio there were concerns about how the I GHF were not providing fuel and water to meet needs, that experienced aid companies would know to.

Boiling water is very difficult because there is no fuel. Remember the blockade? That's where the problem lies. You can't kill the bacteria.

They knew this doctor and knew she had so many children. One child and one husband in their hospital. I honestly cannot tell you if they inspected the dead bodies.

Many Palestinians living in Jerusalem do not have the vote because they do not have Israeli citizenship.

On the West Bank. Israel have occupied since 1968 I think? Israel governs this militarily and has stated it's not going to return it. Palestinians are afforded no self determination whatsoever as yes, you're correct it's occupied. However Israelis who live in the West Bank can vote in Israeli elections, so they have a direct impact on it. They can have representatives that favour them and make policy decisions for them etc. they can lobby. the majority population has none. Even in occupation, denying a population capacity to self determination and decision making is not democracy (see Northern Ireland). You can disagree with occupation but still exercise your political right to represent the needs of your people including decisions regarding self determination and political activism for that.

Finally Israeli citizens who are Jewish are subject to different laws and entitlements than non Jewish Israeli citizens. That's not democracy.

Maybe they should be advised to use the water the Palestinians all over SM everyday are using for washing their clothes as they all look extremely clean, almost like they’re wearing new clothes, despite living in a genocide. Maybe they boil water to wash clothes?

Although seeing as there is evidence that Hamas embed in hospitals and pose as medical staff, and also staff will be compromised with threat of death for collaboration with the enemy, that is open to speculation.

Just reposting because once was clearly not enough.

A lot of people didn’t and still don’t believe these accounts, that Palestinians who they may accept took babies, children and the elderly hostage (as well as bodies/heads of people they murdered) burned whole families alive, threw grenades and went on shooting rampages on a music festival because ‘oppression’ could not possibly be capable of rape and horrific sexual torture.

Thankfully the Israelis believe in dignity for the dead and have not plastered pictures and videos of the dead all over SM, but I did see the charred body of a young woman (from how she was dressed), legs spread apart in rigid morris with nails in her vagina. It fucked me up for days I have to say as well as seeing the Thai man having his head hacked off with a garden hoe to cries of Allahu Akbar, Shani Louk’s body paraded in the pick up truck and the woman in just her underwear dragged through the streets on the back of a motorbike as if it was totally normal and something to celebrate.

I also read an account of a young woman being gang raped, her breast being sliced off and her rapists playing with it in front of her before she was shot in the head while still being raped. I mean you couldn’t make that up.

BUT still people, who may consider themselves reasonably intelligent want to believe everything that comes out of these human abominations mouths and repeat it as fact.

Some on here even believe the IDF are more evil and more of a risk than those who carried out those atrocities on Oct 7th.

I’ve also noticed accounts from Palestinians which almost mirror the atrocities committed on Oct 7th oddly enough. Classic DARVO which few have picked up.

Also Israel is not strictly democratic in the same way that Northern Ireland and South Africa were not: a sizeable amount of its population cannot vote. That's not democracy.

I saw an interview with a volunteer medic...he said he has seen his and women with severe UTIs because there is no sanitary protection. Women are using rags, but the water to wash them in is contaminated, so chronic UTIs emerge. They no longer have the correct antibiotics so some women have died.
I actually cannot imagine the pain.

Many Israelis are protesting. Thousands have gathered to near the Gaza border after walking from Tel Aviv.
Israelis hold a weekly vigil holding pictures of children killed since the ceasefire.
Israelis held banners saying "there is no pride in genocide" in the pride parade.
Israelis protect people from attacks and displacement in the West Bank often in great danger to themselves.
Jews across the world have spoken out and formed associations for peace.
Plenty of Jews feel like many on this thread.

And the small number of Christians there who are important communities too. Which reminds me, Christian buildings are bombed too..
