Try telling the parents of the Palestinian children who died in the WB prior to 7/10 that their children’s deaths did not occur within the right timeframe to trouble people now, that things only really began to matter when children died on 7/10.

No-one is attempting to justify 7/10. But lots of pro-Israeli posters attempt to justify 10,000s of deaths and massive (as yet not fully understood in its exact likely horrifying magnitude) mental and physical health morbidity due to 7/10.

I was talking about who started this particular war as I made clear.

I don't want to get into starting the clock because as far as I can tell both sides have big grudges against the other side going back into history and that's a whole other debate who has done worse to whom. Which is why I'm just focussing on this war.

Hamas caused this particular war and that has nothing to do with Israeli or Palestinian lives being more important.

It may be impossible to justify the slaughter of one baby but you seem to be attempting to justify what Hamas did on October 7th by talking about historical grievances. Children were killed on October 7th you know and afterwards by Hamas.

Who started the war depends on when you start the clock. The first 9 months of 2023 were deadly for Palestinians with over 30 children being killed by Israel just in the West Bank where there is no Hamas . Does that give the Palestinians the right to obliterate the whole of Israel ???? By your reckoning it does. There’s no excuse for genocide . Your post shouts that Israeli lives are worth more than Palestinians and apologies but they’re not. All lives are equal . You believe what you want - what is your current death toll estimate? Are you one of the people on here who doesn't believe a lot of people have been killed? Who thinks the numbers are made up? Are you one of the deniers? Because all I see here is people making excuses for the Israeli Government. History changes nothing - people only see what they want to see - especially if they think it will achieve the aim that suits them.

The British Gov at the time got up to a lot that they aren't too proud of now - but it very much pales into comparison and I feel the same way as you do. I can't imagine how it feels to be in Gaza right now - they must feel the world has abandoned them. The Israeli government is barbaric.

I am Irish and grew up horrified at the IRA bombings, alongside my family and anyone I knew. Thankfully the British government didn't opt for 'self defence' and bomb Ireland, happily and openly killing tens of thousands of us.

That report in the Guardian is two different accounts, one of which is clearly fabricated.

It's not my job to "make excuses" for Israel against things I know little about (like the long history of what has happened between Israel & Palestine before this war) or things that I don't agree with, like the settlements.

I don't support Israel without reservation, I don't agree with everything they do or everything they may have done historically.

What I do is support Israel in this particular war because I believe Hamas caused it not Israel. Hamas bought hell to their people, and Hamas need to surrender and release the remaining hostages.

Netanyahu needs Hamas and has propped them in the past as Hamas gave him the reason for genocide. Thousands of Palestinians were killed by Israel before Hamas even existed. What’s your excuse for that. Or for the 22 illegal settlements that were announced by Israel last week in the West Bank .
Interestingly In Hamas's new proposal, it reinserted language that Israel and Witkoff removed that says that Hamas would relinquish all governance and management of Gaza to an
independent technical committee of Palestinians. Israel and Witkoff paper didn't mention this at all.
It's about time someone noticed this. Hamas is asking to give up power. Netanyahu will not allow them to do so.
He needs them in power to continue the war, stay in power, and continue the genocide.

Suggest you watch the testimonials from some
of the British doctors and surgeons who have been on the ground in Gaza . Dr Waseem saeed, dr Victoria rose and Dr nizam mamode to name a few. Their eye witness accounts all point to genocide.
