I'm not sure what your point is. I said that there's extremism on both sides. However, in Israel they don't throw street parties and hand out sweets like the Palestinians did when celebrating the Itamar Massacre and a three month old baby being stabbed to death in his cot. This is what I mean. Palestinian violence is on a whole other scale

Israelis visit the hills surrounding Gaza to watch bombs fall as if it’s a tourist attraction - they cheer and dance when people are killed.

Daniella Weiss was bringing kids in boat trips to show them Gaza, the land “promised by God” that would be theirs when it was cleared, and the little kids were all getting so excited. This is radicalising the young, brainwashing them to think they have a divine right to other people’s property. This was before October 7th, you see in the BBC documentary where she talks about how she has a direct line with the Israeli government and Netanyahu’s aids, that she can make things happen. This is government sanctioned radicalisation.

There are countless videos of Israelis talking about Palestinians as if they are rats that need exterminating, they see them as less than human.

I do not think it is Palestinians that need deradicalisation - they will hate Israel less when the IDF stop murdering them as Israelis cheer and dance on the surrounding hills. The easiest way to turn people into terrorists that kidnap and murder is to kidnap and murder their kids, steal everything they own and keep them locked in an open air prison as you randomly bomb them. On the flip side the easiest way to get along with your neighbours is to give them equal rights and treat them humanely. The troubles in Northern Ireland ended with catholics being given equal rights - they were allowed in the army and the police and were no longer terrorised - in return the various terrorist groups disbanded. The troubles in South Africa ended with people being given equal rights. It’s not rocket science - treat people as you want to be treated yourself. Read Frankenstein - it is a good reflection of human nature - the monster becomes a monster because of how he has been treated.

Demanding and insisting that random people on the Internet call something wrong, which is obviously wrong regardless of who is doing it, doesn't give you the moral superiority that you think it does. It's just strange and erratic behaviour.

From Reuters

Switzerland to enact Hamas ban from May 15

A new Swiss law banning Hamas and related organisations will come into force on May 15, the government said on Wednesday, aiming to prevent the Palestinian militant group from using Switzerland as a safe haven by making entry bans or expulsions easier to arrange.
The law, which was approved by parliament last December and came in the wake of Hamas' attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, gives Swiss authorities "the necessary tools to take action against Hamas activities or support for the organisation in Switzerland," the government said.

The Swiss law enables preventive police measures such as entry bans or expulsions, and also makes it more difficult for Hamas to use Switzerland as a financial hub for its activities.

I'm not going to perform to your tune just because you demand something. All I see you doing on these threads is jumping to incorrect conclusions time and time again based on your own pre-concieved biases.

Do you really think calling out extremism is dancing to someone's tune? Surely you're either against extremism or you're not

PollyPaintsFlowers · 30/04/2025 22:44

Glorifying and supporting terrorism never achieves anything. Regular people quite rightly are vehemently against it

You're not really in a position to be commenting on other people's fairness and bias. Let's be honest here. You can't even bring yourself to say Palestinian extremism is wrong

You know, I don't think I have a problem here. Those with a bloodlust never leave a lasting legacy. Where are Nazism and Stalinism now? Pol Pot's only legacy is a country that still heavily bears its' scars, until a few years ago you didn't see many old people. People who celebrate death, including that of their own children, don't win in the long run

I stand with the moderates on both sides because that's the only way forward for peace for everyone. History has taught us that.

PollyPaintsFlowers · 30/04/2025 22:35

Whatsinanamehey · 30/04/2025 22:28

You know what your problem is? You think you are fair and unbiased by calling extremism on one side 'wrong' whilst simultaneously trying to paint similar extremism on the other side as much worse. You need to look at your own biases and prejudices before you try to start lecturing others.

There's extremists on both sides, but I think Palestinian extremism is on a whole other level. I don't know why a father would want that for his child, let's be honest, it's sick! And then things like the Itamar Massacre where Palestinians murdered a family in their beds, the youngest being three months old. The programme didn't show that at all though. I can only guess at why

I think all extremism is wrong, I don't hear that from others. In fact moderates are dismissed at best, and receive death threats and need police protection at worst

Did you watch Therouxs doc? You saw what the settlers and the IDF both backed by the Israeli government were doing to them right? How do you teach those people who are abused and harassed everyday, have their homes and livihoods stolen to like Israel? How do you teach people who have been been denied aid for 2 months, had their whole territory destroyed, everything they have ever worked for gone to like Israel? I just don't see how you see this going when Israel are currently oppressing Palestinians as was clearly seen on the doc the other night, how do you teach people to love their oppressors when they are sitting in your house eating your olives while you live in a cave.

Really? The videos showing Israelis dancing and celebrating at the death of an innocent Palestinian child is not a whole other scale? You need to fix your scales.

Videos show Israelis celebrating the death of a Palestinian child that wad murdered by an arson attack carried out in his home by Israelis.

And that would have been wrong to do also. I can call out extremism on both sides. Why are you only concerned with Israeli extremism?

Yes, as usual it's just deflect, deflect, deflect.

Why do you think highlighting extremism on both sides is deflection? Do you not want a light shine on the atrocities carried out by Palestinians? Why are you so hyperfocused on criticising Israel as if they exist in a vacuum?

People have expressed upset on this thread that our governments aren't acting, but maybe that's because they don't exist inside an echo chamber unlike some posters on here. They have committees where hard questions are asked and they do their best to make balanced decisions. Maybe they're not acting as you'd like them to because they have a more realistic picture of the insanity Israel has to deal with

I mean there was a whole documentary aired about them other night, you don't need to dig back anywhere. If people want to talk about deradicalisation those awful people and their poor children would make good candidates.

I've yet to see an Israeli wish for death for their children. I've never seen anything like that video certainly. And from the reactions in Israel it seems there's a great sense of loss and sadness over the loss of lives on 7/10 and in the IDF. There hasn't been any glorification of their children being harmed, quite the opposite

Whatsinanamehey · 30/04/2025 22:11

PollyPaintsFlowers · 30/04/2025 22:08

Instead of the whataboutery maybe you could comment on Palestinian extremism and how important deradicalisation is so they don't lead their children to needless deaths. I thought you were against extremism?

The only one doing whatsboutery on this thread is you.

I can find vile statements said by extremist Israelis too in the cesspit of 'X' from years ago. Not sure what point you are trying to prove.

Palestinians needs to have democratic elections. There hasn't been one since 2006 in Gaza and since about then in the West Bank too I believe

There also needs to be a comprehensive deradicalisation programme to save the next generation

Palestinian Muslim father admits he will happily put bombs on his daughter and help her explode in Israel to kill Jews and become a martyr. This interview was conducted by an Israeli journalist during a pro-Hamas rally in the West Bank.
