That’s exactly what we see in the videos—people standing in line, waiting for a plate of soup.” The purpose, he admitted, is not relief but optics: “It allows the world to continue providing us with international protection.” “We are annihilating everything that remains in the Strip,” he declared, “simply because it is one big city of terror.” He described the new military strategy as one of permanent occupation: “No more raids with ins and outs… we are conquering, clearing, and staying until Hamas is destroyed.” He welcomed the shift toward targeting Gaza’s civil infrastructure: “The IDF is finally conducting a campaign against the civilian rule of Hamas… eliminating ministers, officials, money changers, and figures in the economic and governmental apparatus.” Boasting of the scale of destruction, Smotrich said: “We are dismantling Gaza, leaving it in ruins with unprecedented destruction, and the world still hasn’t stopped us.” He added that, personally, he would prefer a total blockade: “Until the last of the hostages returns, we should also not let water into the Gaza Strip.” Smotrich endorsed ethnic cleansing as official policy: “The population will reach the south of the Strip, and from there, God willing, to third countries, as part of President Trump’s plan.”

If I was a betting woman my money would be on Hamas agreeing to leave Gaza soon as part of the ceasefire agreement so basically… yes.

Having caused maximum damage by starting a war they couldn’t win they now want their families to be relocated somewhere safe.

Whether or not Hamas shoots them in the end, or instead they starve or get killed by bombs too like civilian Palestinians, Israel will say they were shot or otherwise killed by Hamas.

What happens to the remaining hostages is not of the slightest concern for Netanyahu and the people he has done a pact with the devil with.

This is what I don’t understand. At the very least in the next hour arrangements could be made to drone deliver medicines and baby formulas that are needed. It could have been done days ago by anyone.

@BelleHathor no I don’t think so. Israel isn’t even trying to cover up its war crimes anymore. The US may not care what really happens to the Palestinians but it isn’t keen in the optics of being involved in the genocide either.

The US are getting annoyed with Israel. Isreal is going for the escalation without backing and the US got their man out alone. If it was anyone else, it would look like Trump is aiming to reduce their reliance on Israel as an ally after what he said in Saudi ect… but Trump just says things. But Witkoff largely agrees with the Arab approach.

I’ve the impression that Witkoff is invested in getting out the hostages: he seems very focused on that in what he says and he gave the American hostage his dead son’s necklace as a gift. He’s probably getting very frustrated that the Israeli administration don’t prioritise them.

The Israeli government is angry at the possibility that Trump might actually focus on America's interests.

But also fuck Witkoff, he personally promised the mediators that food aid would enter Gaza in exchange for Edan and is currently not fulfilling that promise.

Cynically, Trump likely got Edan out to ensure that an American would not be killed during the current escalation and avoid backlash.

As the extermination continues without a pause, it seems Israel really is aiming for that number at the least. It has been non stop since Edan Alexander was released. It's almost as if the Israeli government were angered that he was released without their involvement. They wanted to make sure that any doubt of hope was expelled for both the Palestinians and families of the hostages.
