It is perfectly right for Israel to deny access to MPs at a time of war when their only possible reason to visit was to undermine a country at war

Why are 2 MPs wishing to visit Israel (not on government businees).

Is to look at potential trading ideas? Is is to suggest enhanced military co-operation with an ally? Is to offer personal condensed to the victims of October 7th? Is it to learn more about the culture of Istael?

Of course it isnt.

Two MPs paid by our tax and supposedly representing constituents have tried to go to Israel to make a political point and possibly engage in some sort of protest behaviour. I think Israel is perfectly within their rights to refuse to partake in publicity stiunts or to host representatives of other counties whose sole wish is to criticise them and not support.

Enough said.

Israel can and do do what they want clearly. What Israel can't do though and what absolutely kills their avid supporters to the point that they resort to baseless accusations, is they can't control what people think Israels actions say about them.

I'm really hoping that you meant to say "Those who post on Mumsnet are biased in favour of a terrorist organisation......."

Otherwise unless you could prove it, your contribution would be a serious libel. If you are suggesting that MNHQ is hotbed of wide eyed, antisemitic trots.... (possibly even a Marxist cell) then Emma, or Jenna or Donna or Matilda or Emma 2 or whoever is breezing through these boards trying to maintain decorum, may be having a quiet word in your ear.

If, on the other hand, you really meant to say " Those who post on Mumsnet are terrorist supporting, left wing antisemites...."

Then that's OK, we're used to that.

They were travelling as a parliamentary delegation organised by CAABU and MAP to visit humanitarian aid projects and learn more about what's happening in the region.

If we need state delegation this handled by the foreign office and PM. This was not a state sanctioned visit but two MPs wanting to go to Israel to make some sort of point.

I think in reality the Israelis might have refused them for thieor own safety if they had decided to do something stupid like travelling towards Gaza or the West Bank during a way.

They were going to visit a number of humanitarian projects which are ongoing in the West Bank. They had informed the UK consul of their itinerary and that would therefore have been communicated to the Israeli's.

It doesn't take a genius to work out what happened. They have been previously critical of the recent actions of the Israeli government. The Israeli government is making clear it will not tolerate anyone who disagreed with their actions.

Someone in the Israeli government clearly didn't want them there and so they made up some nonsense to allow them to be arrested and deported as soon as they got to the airport.

I dont support hamas nor israel's indiscriminate bombing and war crimes.
