As if the anguish isn't enough!

I take it you have only recently started taking notice of Hamas's behaviour.

No.
Ive been on these threads for years.

@Stirabout know him personally do you? What you have read may be no closer to the truth than the propaganda that's posted.

You know nothing of the motivation of Netanyahu and big decisions would have been made in discussion not unilaterally by him.

Remember the hostages are only there because of Hamas.

Any man who supports a terrorist group when it suits him is capable of anything, or was that propaganda too?

Stirabout · 22/02/2025 13:02

As I said theres nothing to gain.
They will be more concerned about how they appear on the world stage than how they affect one person.
It seems logical to consider that as more important

How do you think parading hostages around and playing party music while delivering bodies in coffins makes them look on the world stage?

SharonEllis · 22/02/2025 13:27

Liv999 · 22/02/2025 13:17

That is just terrible, what an awful man he really is

Wow. Just read back what you just wrote. At any point they could have released those bodies. At any point. Of course they deliberately held onto them. They didnt accidentally hold on to them.

OF COURSE Netanyahu was going to prioritise living hostages in the deals. No human being with any sense, strategy or morality would prioritise dead bodies over living hostages in a deal.

Netanyahu is the awful human being here? Seriously? I think Netanyahu is a shit but seriously noone with a vaguely functioning moral compass could fault him for prioritising getting living hostages out of their hell holes and back to their families.

Sorry, what's the point you are making? Hamas are a terrorist organisation that has repeatedly lied and failed to disclose for over 16 months whether Israeli citizens are dead or alive and has refused to disclose this information to even the Red Cross. Many of the hostage families were shown videos produced by Hamas, implying their relatives were dead. Some have been released alive. Maybe now you finally understand why a nation refused to give up on Shiri, Ariel and Kfir.

My post relates to news at the time of the first ceasefire hostage release. A pp asked a question on the running thread. I responded.

Of note Hamas let the Red Cross check on hostages after the first release and at the request of the Israeli Govn.

Of note I haven’t seen any news relating to Hamas releasing videos of dead hostages that were then returned alive, so I can’t comment on that. I have looked across the board at various news outlets to check though.

If they cared about how they looked on the world stage they would get it right.
They wouldn't keep celebrating.
They wouldn't keep putting propaganda in and around babies coffins.
They wouldn't have sent the wrong person.
They wouldn't care less how the world sees them.
It's another way to punish Israel and all Jews and that's all they care about.
Please don't try and humanise them and allow them a seat at a table they don't deserve to have.

@SharonEllis I messaged you re post.

Liv999 · 22/02/2025 13:17

Stirabout · 22/02/2025 12:59

No. They didn’t deliberately hold onto the bodies.
They were offered during part of a ceasefire deal but Netanyahu specially said he would take the living only.

It was also reported when the names of the first hostages to be released were given to Israel on 23rd November 2023 ( for release the next day ). All hostages were children and women, the Family weren’t on the list as had been reported they had already died in an Israeli air strike.
Netanyahu requested the living only, at the time.

So no evidence then but you repeat stuff from terrorist groups. We know the terrorists claimed they died then but provided no evidence and the bastards held onto the bodies. The bastards held onto the bodies of a mother and her children to use as bargaining chips and her husband all that time had no idea what had happened.

How do you know it was from a terrorist group? It was a post someone had put up on another thread which as I said I can't find now, not everything that you don't want to believe comes from a terrorist group

Stirabout · 22/02/2025 13:02

SharonEllis · 22/02/2025 13:01

There is everything to gain in their world by causing a bit more pain to Yarden Bibas for whom they have shown no compassion.Aw bless them, muddling up the bodies. Why are you giving them benefit of the doubt?

on the world stage there is nothing to gain by sending the wrong person back and everything to lose..one only has to look at opinions since this has happened.
On this basis I think they just got the wrong person

She doesn't. As I've said, the same people steer the conversation towards their interests, making the accuse they've piggybacked on others' remarks. They are not arguing in good faith or out of consideration or regard for the Bibas family. Their motivation is to discredit the Israeli government and distract us from the events of the past few days and the murders of Shiri, Ariel and Kfir.

Yes I've already said I don't thanks, I was replying to another poster who said it wasn't Hamas who killed the Bibas children, and I said yes I had seen that on another thread

Stirabout · 22/02/2025 12:53

GentleScroller · 22/02/2025 12:37

My thoughts also. This was a deliberate attempt by Hamas to cause as much pain and suffering for not only the Bibas family but for all in Israel and Jews around the world.

To be able to get it right and return Shiri within 24 hours you can only assume Hamas knew exactly what they were doing and their motivation for doing it.

I don't think it's just a "claim": it's in the BBC report here:

As we reported earlier, the family of Shiri Bibas says that last night she was "brought home".
That came after the remains Hamas handed over in Gaza on Thursday turned out not to be hers.
By Friday night, Hamas handed over another body that Israel has now identified as hers.
The incident caused shock and anger in Israel.
In response, Hamas said there might have been an error, perhaps due - it said - to human remains becoming mixed due to Israeli air strikes.
That raises the question of why they were then able to provide her genuine remains so swiftly. No explanation of that has yet been given.

Israeli military spokesperson Daniel Hagari has dismissed Hamas's claim that Shiri Bibas and her children were killed in an Israeli air strike as lies.
Hamas was not the Palestinian armed faction that abducted Shiri Bibas or her children, nor is it believed to have held them afterwards.
That could suggest that Hamas did not have full command of the process of the handover of her body and perhaps didn't make necessary checks.
The body that was originally handed over is unknown, but it was not that of another hostage, according to Israel.
There is also the possibility that Hamas did it knowingly but that raises questions over why it would wish to endanger the already fragile ceasefire with such a blatantly provocative act.

Thank you, a lot of misinformation going around

stomachamelon · 22/02/2025 12:24

Also Shiri's parents had been murdered at the same time. She must have been terrified.

Even if it wasn't Hamas (and actually I have read on more than one occasion it was more likely civilians) that doesn't change anything.

And there is no proof what was 'known' as Hamas are known to lie and manipulate.

hihelenhi · 22/02/2025 12:20

Liv999 · 22/02/2025 12:03

Yes I seen on another thread someone else claimed it was not Hamas who took them either, some other terrorist group was mentioned, also Israel knew they were deceased since Nov 2023
