I don't think it's the worst suggestion as it would lead to increased peace and security in the region. Having Palestinians under different authority would stop organisations like Hamas taking hols with their murderous ideology. If enough can be offered to Egypt and Jordan maybe they would acquiesce?

If Hamas remain in charge and there is no country willing to invest in Gazan reconstruction then maybe this is the only realistic option?

Its up there with his Covid suggestion to inject bleach. He can suggest these ideas to the neighbouring countries all he wants, it will just make them even less willing to work with him and make the US more of a target for extremists on the other side.

There hasn’t been the noise about Trump standing aside from his various companies upon assuming the presidency. Not like last time. My bet is he has his finger in (or will have) any number of construction companies who will (surprise, surprise) win multi billion dollar contracts to rebuild Gaza. And not for the benefit of Palestinians.
