Yep, apparently it's fine to say that but not fine to object to that characterisation of young children. It would be considered unacceptable to refer to child victims of grooming and radicalisation as terrorists when they're not from certain demographics though. It's another example of how racist adultification is accepted. 18/19/20 year olds from certain ethnicities and religious backgrounds are excused from accountability for their actions: "They're children, really"; "Barely into adulthood"; "Forced into awful situations"; "They'll be scared". Meanwhile, 11/12/13 year olds from other ethnicities and religious backgrounds are treated as equivalent to adults; we see it in the UK in how children are treated by the state, in how child migrants are treated, and in how the public view children being killed in conflicts.

But nobody here is doing that, yet the implication (or more) of lots of posts here is that people here are celebrating the deaths of children. Which they are not. The brutalisation of children is one of the most intractable issues in many parts of the world. Its also worth recognising that 18 is not necessarily the threshold of adulthood in many parts of the world. The age of consent in both gaza & west bank is under 18 & what we would consider child marriage is not uncommon. There is a big difference between a 6 year old & a 17 year old.

None, and I mean none of the pro-Israel supporters on MN have ever said every action by Israel has been acceptable (indeed they have to defend themselves constantly or else be accused of enjoying the killing of children) but constant posts about Israel bad, Palestine good, Israel kills everyone etc without actually adding anything, isn't exactly a discussion, is it?

Certainly pro-Israel supporters never got their own board and posted every terrorist attack they endured over the years because it isn't conducive and is hardly the way to move forward to peace.

The justification, defence and open celebration of the murders of children, as widely seen posted on social media by people who share those views, are sickening. Soldiers used to feel regret if they had to kill an under-18 combatant in an engagement - now, people kill and maim toddlers and post "Lol" on their Instagram.

Once again a perfectly reasonable post and question is ignored and the whataboutery came out.

When I put up that documentary about children being radicalised by violence the only "pro Israel " posters who commented basically said they wouldn't watch it as it didn't represent Israel.
Who radicalised the IDF operator who thought it was ok to strike a Lebanese building and kill 23 innocent children? You can see their photographs on the BBC article.

Such misinformation and incorrect generalisations. Some of you really don't know what you are talking about and it shows.

Children everywhere around the world in almost all countries are radicalised. That doesn't mean ALL of the children in those countries are. Are Israeli extremist children radicalised? Does that mean all Israeli children are radicalised?

The Palestinians have an extremely high literacy rate. If you see interviews with Palestinian children, most aspire to be professional in respected fields. But some of you prefer to horn in on a minority that exists in almost every country and generalise that for the entire population of children to justify your hate and prejudice.

Pointing out the reality that there are terrorists under the age of 18 is not to justify the murder of children. These posts are becoming increasingly ghoulish. Who on earth is saying they are perfectly happy to see children shot? But if you really cared about children you might admit that they have been groomed, manipulated and brutalised by Hamas and you also might recognise the complexity of dealing with a situation in which Israel is fighting a regime that puts young people on the front line. Rather than just seeing anothet opportunity to sttack Israel. How do you think these children should be rescued from Hamas?

Well it's not true in Gaza...there are plenty of child terrorists...Hamas boasts about them...children there are indoctrinated from a young age to strive for martyrdom, to be a "shaheed" ....supported by their families. I'm sure you can find plenty of videos if you search. There are ( or were) summer camps for children to teach them to be terrorists. Terrorists groups came into schools every week to teach the boys how to use rifles. It's a baffling mindset.
