Last functioning hospital in Northern Gaza is stormed by the IDF

If it wasn't already clear that Israel is carrying out ethnic cleansing in the north of Gaza, then this is the final straw.

IDF soldiers have posted countless videos mocking at the destruction they have caused in the north. The north of Gaza has suffered massacre after massacre at the hands of Israel and after repeatedly targeting the Kamal Adwan hospital, they have now forced them to evacuate after bombing and killing several medics.

Israel orders evacuation of Kamal Adwan hospital in Gaza, medics say - BBC News

The hospital's nursing director says ICU patients in comas and on ventilation machines are being forced out.

They ordered the evacuation of every single patient including babies in the ICU, does this not horrify you?
This was after targeting and striking many hospitals that still had patients inside.
The IDF then proceeded to invade and destroy the hospitals so they were no longer able to operate.
There is not a single functioning hospital left in the north of Gaza after Israel has attacked every single one.
I stand with what the UN say in regards to the IDF's attacks on Gaza's health care. It amounts to war crimes and extermination.

It doesn't matter whether any of us are horrified. All that matters is being able to use your faculties to come to your own balanced judgement of what it right. It's easy to be horrified, but it doesn't answer the question of what happens if terrorists and weapons are hidden inside the hospital and they are responsible for killing civilians. These are actual questions the Israelis have to confront. They are not theoretical questions.

Obviously you are saying that all this is a pretext, there are no terrorists in the hospitals and it is all cynically fabricated to enable the Israelis to destroy everything. I think that is less plausible than that they genuinely believe the hospitals constitute a threat. We can disagree on this point of course.

BadgerInDungarees · 02/01/2025 21:40

@stomachamelon I really don't think you have thought through what you posted. Fairness would be every death of a journalist treated the same way. All of the things that you list don't happen for the majority of journalists that have been killed. There haven't been 150 UN security council meetings about each and every journalist Israel have killed. There hasn't been statements from the EU every time Isreal kills a journalist. Yet you are saying that order for it to be fair every time the PA security forces kills a journalist there should be UN meetings and EU statements?

Unfortunately, there has been so much killing that each and every death doesn't get the condemnation it deserves. Obviously, her death is a tragedy as is the death of every journalist who has been killed in this conflict but your post doesn't show what you think it does. How much news coverage do you think these poor people get in our mainstream news. About the same as this poor woman. The last journalists in the news I remember is just before Christmas when Israel killed 5 jounrlaists in one go, I don't think they even got their sex nevermind names in the short article I read. I have often seen on instagram that a journlist has been killed in Gaza and there isn't a bbc news story about it, there is nothing. You aren't looking for this killing to be treated the same at all, if this killing was treated the same way as the 150 other journalists killed in this conflict you probably wouldn't even know that she was dead.

stomachamelon · 02/01/2025 21:20

@BadgerInDungarees think my point is quite self explanatory. I didn't realise her death isn't noteworthy when it's shifted 82 miles.

@Shirk from all the hospitals they bombed and invaded they couldn't even give a solitary image of even one of the Hamas HQ's there? Considering attacking hospitals is a war crime unless they have been compromised, surely they would after one year of attacks, show one of them?
Unless ofcourse, there just wasn't any.

Early days in the assault on Gaza they made up "evidence" with regard to their attacks on hospitals. The actress pretending to be a nurse, the AI video of the underground complex at Shifa and the calendar blunder are memorable examples.

Since then I haven't seen any actual evidence, though mercifully they have stopped the invented "evidence" (which by the way should be extremely alarming to anyone in their right mind - what normal country/military would do this?)

So I have to conclude they just want to destroy all the hospitals.

So would you say that going into the hospital and trying to root out the terrorists/weapons would be acceptable, but not damaging the hospital building itself? Or that the terrorists and guns should just be left there, because the risks of operating in that environment at all are too high?

Regarding your second comment, the IDF would say that they have provided some evidence (although of course the quality/legitimacy of it is contested). It's possible that they operate on their own intelligence and don't prioritise evidence-gathering as highly as we might like.

For information.....

Thanks for sharing this information about a young woman being murdered in this horrific way. Kind of confused by the narrative that follows. From reading more on it she was a student of journalism and not actively working as a journalist in a conflict zone so I'm not sure why there'd be an expectation for the UN, EU, BBC, and so on to respond to it?

BadgerInDungarees · 02/01/2025 20:52

stomachamelon · 02/01/2025 20:35

For information.....

Have the EU and the UN released statements for each and everyone of the 150 journalists killed by Israel? Has there been UN security council meetings for each and everyone of the 150 journalists killed by Israel? If there has you might have a point, if there hasn't been what is your point?

Lalaloveya · 02/01/2025 20:50

For God's sake. There are no hospitals operating in Northern Gaza. There's nothing there now. This scraping of the barrel to come up with ways to excuse what Israel has done is deplorable.

Shirk · 02/01/2025 20:42

Whatsinanamehey · 02/01/2025 20:01

So what If they think there's some guns or the likes there? Is that good reason to invade and destroy entire hospitals that are the lifeline for those who are being maimed by Israeli bombs? I can't understand that line of thinking unless some of you believe that the Palestinians are not even worth a small chance of living.

And the IDF have attacked atleast 10 hospitals. Many of them multiple times. Each time they claimed there was a Hamas HQ there, yet they haven't provided evidence of this even once. Can you blame anyone who would be sceptical of their claims after this?

No, it suggests that the information vacuum caused by Israel not allowing international media into Gaza and killing members of the local media is causing confusion for people in establishing what is true and what is not.

Ah - apologies.
It is sometimes a bit combative on here and I jumped to conclusions .
The first casualty of war is always truth. Hard to know what is true at times.

What evidence could they provide that would make you think the attack was justified? What reason is there not to at least believe that they believe there are weapons there? Israel has spent many years supporting the construction of infrastructure in Gaza. Why did they do that if all along they wanted to destroy it? Were they just playing a really long game?

If you have a predetermined view that Israel has a nefarious purpose and that belief cannot be falsified, it suggests that your beliefs are not founded on reason, but prejudice.

Well this is why Israel has banned the international media and why they're killing the local media.

It's much easier to get away with it this way. And it's clearly working, judging from your last few posts at least.

Strange final comment.
Which of my posts suggests that to you @Lalaloveya ? I get all my news from Channel 4 / BBC and Times newspaper. I don’t look at any Israeli or Palestinian online news sources.

Lalaloveya · 02/01/2025 19:17

OpheliaWasntMad · 02/01/2025 19:11

True
It’s just very difficult to prove a negative ( eg no one has proved there are no Hamas operatives in hospitals) so this makes it tricky.
I think the fact that the Israelis haven’t provided convincing evidence by this stage is surprising if Hamas really were using the hospitals as a base.

But I also think Hamas operatives do not wear uniform and live and work amongst the general population so I can understand how difficult it is. They are not like an ordinary army.

Either way - I’m don’t think what is happening in Gaza is logistically successful or morally justifiable.

Oh I think they knew... In fact I am not sure whether to laugh or to be offended that they keep on trotting out such easily debunked lies they must presume that the general public is so easily misled/stupid.

UK doctor who worked at Shifa confirms Gaza hospital used for non medical purposes.

www.timesofisrael.com/uk-doctor-who-worked-at-shifa-confirms-gaza-hospital-used-for-non-medical-purposes/

How is this evidence?
One unnamed anonymous doctor who worked there for a short period, years ago. Is this the best the IDF could come up with?
They showed many elaborate CGI's of extensive bunkers and a big HQ before the invasion and attack.
When probed for evidence they showed a water shaft and a Hamas rota which embarrassingly transpired to be a calender.

Too, numerous international humanitarian organisations, both from the UN and independent…ie MSF, WHO, Indonesia, Qatar, UNICEF, OCHR, HRW, the US Medic Mission by UHC etc have sent a constant stream of teams of doctors and nurses to these hospitals the entire war. Every one of them have said they did not see any evidence of Hamas operating from or in the hospitals. Even after coming home, safe and sound, with no way for Hamas to threaten or blackmail them into lying about it. Live video footage of attacks on hospitals from inside the hospitals by journalists has not once caught a Hamas fighter in any frame.

We know they do this because the dim witted soldiers record their destructive acts to give a 'moral boost' to their followers back in Israel, despite being ordered not to.

Now, many of them can't travel freely because there is a high chance of them being prosecuted for war crimes. The crimes they posted about gleefully on their personal social media accounts making no attempt to hide their identities.
