Hamas don’t want peace

A two day ceasefire was offered to them in return for four hostages but they declined. Antony Blinken, the US secretary of state, said Hamas “once again refused to release even a limited number of hostages to secure a ceasefire and relief for the people of Gaza”.
Isreal has now offered a million dollars for each hostage and safe passage out of Gaza for their captors. Hamas have yet to respond.

Is this a serious question ! Israel
want to pause the genocide for two days . What’s the point of that . Is that going to bring back the hundred thousand plus that have been slaughtered. I’m actually shocked that you can’t see the problem with that . In previous hostage exchanges Israel captured the Palestinian hostages they released as soon as they had the Israeli hostages back. The Palestinians are just waiting to die and people like you seem to think they deseeve to die otherwise you wouldn’t post something so ridiculous And would Be pushing for a permanent ceasefire ! You seem to think an extra two
says for them to live is something they should
be extremely grateful to Israel for !!!!!

@Nads0622 , it’s not a question; it’s a statement. Why do you think Hamas perpetrated 07/10? What do you think they hoped to accomplish? This is not about the people who live in Gaza their dreadful situation is at Hamas’s hands.

Oh I think all those things that you lost are exactly what Hamas both wanted and expected. They want people to hate Israel and yo stir up Antisemitism. They have undoubtedly used and continue to use social media and the mainstream media - both are full of useful idiots who will buy a narrative and repeat mantras unquestioningly.

Hamas don’t care how many people die in their quest to literate Israel. They can’t do this purely through military might so they employ manipulative propaganda through media and social media. They rely on people to follow narratives which people do time and time again. They are recruiting unwitting terrorist supporters in their propaganda wars. People so desperate to fit in they don’t even question the narrative they are supporting. you can’t really blame them social media has been cultivating a culture of unthinking compliance for years. It’s not surprising when that culture is used by terrorists.

it doesn’t take too much thought to see what is happening. You would hope people would not be so unwittingly drawn into supporting terrorists in the proper war, but….

Hamas continue to reject and type of diplomacy- they are more than willing to continue to see babies die, whilst people in the West continue their fight for them.

Sorry - for the typos-it is obvious to anyone what is meant but given prior experience obviously mean

your list, not lost

obliterate not literate Israel

propoganda war, not proper war

Fight for them means fight on behalf of the terrorists.

There was a great experiment that showed why people followed the Nazis involving men in lab coats and electric shocks. It showed that people will often act against their better judgement if someone in “authority” they trust tells them something is “right” and ok. They basically let go of any sense of individual responsibility for causing harm. Now we just have celebrities and people in the algorithm social media echo chambers telling people what is “right”. People blindly follow as they don’t need to think or take personal responsibility.

I guess then the only thing we need to do is distinguish who is wearing the white coat getting others to inflict harm for them without question.

@Feelingathomenow back to the OP.

I doubt very much that Hamas wanted, or were expecting peace. But I doubt they were expecting Israel to react with the utter disregard for life that they have done.

I fear that the Israeli response will be used to justify 7/10. I fear that the support for Israel from some high profile countries will encourage terrorist attacks against those countries.

I also fear that the huge shift in public support, from disinterest or neutrality or even generally pro Israel, to a pretty overwhelming pro Palestinian stance will also result in a very scary antisemitic shift.

Israeli genocide in Gaza and the blatant ethnic cleansing and colonisation of the West Bank have moved public feeling firmly against continued military support for Israel from western governments.

Israel is going to be ever more vulnerable and isolated.

While I doubt this is what Hamas expected I fear it's what will result.

Ah if you read the above you will see this unfortunate error has already been pointed out and dealt with. Obviously anyone with an ounce of common sense would realise it was supposed to read “atrocities carried on by the Nazis” but happy to clarify it again for you. I suppose, at least I’m not wasting my time negotiating for the release of sausages

This is getting proper weird. We just had toad in the hole for dinner.

JaneJeffer · 10/11/2024 19:53

Because your posts have made so much sense @Feelingathomenow e.g. "trying to deny people knew at least some of the atrocities carried out by the Jews during WW2"

Ah another enlightening comment linked to the situation in the Middle East.

Do you want to discuss the OPs post or just name call me?

Weirdo.

Yes I would say your comment is commensurate with the level of erudition you have displayed thus far on this thread.

Do you have anything interesting to say on the subject of the situation in the Middle East or are you using the war as an excuse to name call people with different view points to you? Do you actually care about the matters being discussed or are they simply a medium through which you to flex your ego?

Have you got anything interesting or pertinent to say in answer to the OP ‘s question? I’m here to discuss serious matters not hurl insults at others.

Are you sure you're claiming Jews were responsible for WW2 atrocities?

You might like to check your post means what you want it to mean.

It means exactly what I want it to mean. Now let’s draw a line underneath it. People knew atrocities were being carried out by the Nazis during WW2 at the time of the War. For some reason you want to deny that. I don’t see there’s any value in discussing this anymore. Neither is there any value in your repeatedly failed attempts to discredit me.

@Feelingathomenow The question I have, is why you would try and deny such knowledge of the treatment of Jews? Are you trying to deny it took place or that people weren’t complicit with it? Trying to claim ignorance?

Do you mean me personally? Or does the you = allies during WW2?

Sure, it's completely true that Nazi atrocities were increasingly clear to those living on mainland Europe throughout the course of the war, as per my post. But that was nothing to do with you original post.

Your post clearly claimed that the allies war effort was to prevent the Nazi atrocities. This is untrue.

would you like any more straws to grasp at and twist?

I was responding to your post that the allies suppressed knowledge of Nazi atrocities.

Bit thank you for being so responsive to any comments made. You’re dedicating a lot of time to this.

If you did even a cursory amount of research you would see the most popular scholastic view now is that people were aware of Many of The Nazi parties atrocities during the war, eg Van der Baums analysis of Dutch peoples diaries, eg n the BBC were reporting on them. So no you are wrong/outdated. Of course further atrocities came to light after the war and the allies did try and hide some in exchange for information eg the Japanese Unit 731. But people were certainly aware of atrocities esp against the Jews ) why do you think people were hiding /rescuing Jews - at great risk to themselves.. I accurately also included the ideology and associated atrocities that went with the German expansionism that most stood against.

No, this is simply untrue. It's pretty well recognised that the allies actually suppressed evidence of atrocities until pretty late in the war.

ANYTIME you have a more advanced, less religious based (more secular than religious based government), one that is more democratic, can keep their people out of poverty due to ingenuity, THAT country will dominate.
Survival of the fittest if you will. And the fittest - those highly developed countries have the ability to influence BECAUSE they can maintain an economy and have sophisticated diplomacy.
White supremacist theory here. Absolutely repulsive.

Israel is not "bombing the - out of them". Palestinians are collateral damage due to Hamas' refusal to use rules of engagement one of which means: "Do not HIDE behind civilian populations". Look at facts not emotional propaganda. Hamas and the likes, use not just Palestinians but also emotion filled sympathetic people, such as yourself, as a means to create emotion thereby furthering their jihadist cause.

Please provide facts to support your views that the Israeli government/idf are not bombing the shit out of Palestinians.
I will wait.

Lol, I say they are stopping the spread of tyranny (or Hitler Nazism) into other countries. You say they were stopping German expansionism. Yet I’m the one who needs a history lesson🤦‍♀️. Largely they same thing, except I accurately also included the ideology and associated atrocities that went with the German expansionism that most stood against.
