It’s true though isn’t it or why would people be celebrating a massive missile bombardment from one nuclear power on another, obviously hoping as much death and destruction as possible was wrought, and surely knowing that a full blown war across their region was imminent due to it?

If they loved their children more than they hated Israel, they would be horrified at this escalation and the further suffering yet to come on all sides surely? Wouldn’t you be?

Most people in the West are.

The ‘martyr’ ideology across that region is well documented in videos, articles and even UN reports from over 20 years ago and up to recently.

It is gobsmacking to me that people in the West don’t understand the relevance of that and the implications of it as a barrier to peace in the region.

Golda Meir said it in 1957:
Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us.

And in 1969:
When peace comes we will perhaps in time be able to forgive the Arabs for killing our sons, but it will be harder for us to forgive them for having forced us to kill their sons.

Over 50 years later and…………….

There are no adequate words to convey the tragedy in this.

Did Iran attack Palestine or Lebanon today? No.

That's why the thread is about the people under attack by Iran.

There are plenty of people celebrating in Lebanon though.

But this kind of attitude has gone on from the start on both sides. When any thread has been started about the deaths in Gaza, immediately some will comment and bring up October 7 and talk about the victims there. It feels impossible to discuss one side, without people feeling the need to remind others that there have been other victims too. I am yet to see a thread without ‘what about’ being said.

What is the mindset that thinks coming onto a thread about Israel is the place to "what about "

I simply do not understand why people fail to comprehend why Israel would protect itself and take out those who wish to destroy it. Whose whole being and purpose is to rid the world of Jews and the Jewish state.

I despise anybody celebrating any action that kills innocent civilians. How can anybody think this is an occasion for joy??

I've visited and unless you hate Israel you aren't welcome so I don't visit anymore.

I've said time and again that too many innocents are dying and more needs to be done towards negotiations of a ceasefire but unless you hate Israel don't bother. That's why there are a handful of mainly the same people posting on most.

The fact that Iran has launched the missiles and people are celebrating in Iraq, Gaza, Iran, Lebanon etc pretty much shows that no matter who attacks Israel they love it. Some there hate Israel more than they love their own children and until they spend money on improving their own lot rather than hate on Israel things won't improve for them. Pathetic.

My thoughts are with everyone in their mamad tonight and also all the Iranians who long for Israel to free them from an awful, autocratic and fanatical regime.

There was a terrorist attack in Tel Aviv today too.

The number of terrified innocents is increasing. Gaza, Lebanon and Israel. Where next, Iran? My heart goes out to anyone fearing for their life right now. Whether that’s a family being bombed in Lebanon or a terrified mother cowering in a bunker in Israel tonight. I cannot imagine what it must feel like as a parent. The photo of those kids tonight in a bunker in tel aviv made me shudder. Those poor frightened families.

What the hell is wrong with people. This is a war. Just horrific. No innocent civilian deserves this.

Why on earth would you report someone for their personal opinion about a world leader currently involved in a war??

Looks as if despite sending 181 missiles into Israel, the only death is a Palestinian man (at least so far).

Much love to all the innocent Israelis tonight. I can't imagine how terrifying it is. Unfortunately though this was inevitable. I really hope they (as in the leaders involved) are locked in a fucking room together and not allowed out until they agree to stop. Enough is enough!
