IDF reports Nasrallah killed in overnight strikes

@Switcher Yeah that's so right. That will be why the US abandoned Afghanistan is such an appalling chaotic stupid way.
Left all their weapons behind either to be sold on the black market or used by the Taliban.
Choose the wrong airport to evacuate from , left teenagers who had never lived under the Taliban so terrified they clung to planes that were taking off only to fall to the deaths , abandoned people who had helped them, abandoned the women of Afghanistan completely and then the US whacks a load of sanctions on so thousands of children starve to death.
Apparently because the US public were tired of war and spending. But here we are with the US throwing billions at Israel to kill even more women and children.

The final thought is - never got rid of the Taliban.

It is good news but the coverage seems to boil down to some self fulfilling scaredy cats talking about how it will inflame tensions. Instead of focussing on the fact Islamism subjugates people and frightens them into compliance with a load of misogynist, fatalistic nonsense, instead of maybe giving air time to the many people across the Middle East who would live happier lives without terrorists, and who might feel cautiously optimistic. Apparently we should all just give in to violent bullies in case we annoy them.

Hezbollah has confirmed it. The guardian

Hezbollah has issued a statement confirming the death of its secretary general, Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the southern suburbs of Beirut on Friday, ending his 32-year tenure as the group’s leader.
The group said in a statement:
His eminence, the master of resistance, the righteous servant, has passed away to be with his lord who is pleased with him as a great martyr.
The leadership of Hezbollah pledges ... to continue its jihad in confronting the enemy [Israel], supporting Gaza and Palestine, and defending Lebanon and its steadfast and honourable people.
The statement did not mention who would succeed Nasrallah, or how the group would respond to the assassination of its long-time leader.
Hezbollah added it would continue its battle against Israel “in support of Gaza and Palestine, and in defence of Lebanonand its steadfast and honourable people”.
