Hezbollah and Iran 'poised to attack Israel this week'

The reporter stated the Israeli “military launched a series of strikes towards Lebanon” They said they launched “ preemptive strikes on Hezbollah positions after accusing the group of preparing to launch an extensive attack.” Al Jazeera then shows images of what they describe as the overnight Israeli air strikes in southern Lebanon.

Then Al Jazeera goes on to show images
coming in from northern Israel “ in the aftermath”, appearing to show Israel’s Iron Dome system active in the skies over the border region.

So it seems that the Israeli air strikes on Hezbollah were overnight, and the Hezbollah rockets launched at southern Israel followed this and were in the early morning.

You've been on this board a while - surely you've seen a fair few posts where Zionists themselves have mentioned what their definition of Zionism is? Why wouldn't you and other regular posters use that definition instead? If they mean far-right Israelis they should really just call them that instead instead of misappropriating a word.

For reference, Zionism to most Zionists just means that they want a Jewish homeland in Zion aka Israel. I'm a Zionist who is also pro-Palestinian as I very much want Palestinians to have their own state as well, alongside the predominantly Jewish state of Israel.

The rockets (340 katushka missiles) and an unspecified number of drones were fired after the IDF carried out pre-emptive airstrikes (50) in Southern Lebanon that was announced on Israeli Channel 12.

If only that was accurate unfortunately there are still numerous atrocities still happening in Gaza that posters are still highlighting on these boards. Maybe it's not something you are interested in but many of us do like to be made aware of what is happening so I am grateful to those who still update here.

I don't think you'll find any supporters of Netanyahu on here, but the 'it's all Israel's fault' is beyond tedious now and has rendered any kind of discussion absolutely pointless.

Most adults would acknowledge that Hezbollah started provoking Israel already back in October and that they have kept doing so ever since with their constant attacks up north, including one that killed 12 children just a few weeks ago. But then again most adults don't automatically feel the need to blame Israel for absolutely everything bad that happens in the world. Most adults are a bit more objective and sensible than that.

Of course, you're absolutely right, it's been entirely one-sided. Not a single missile, drone or incendiary has been fired by Iran, Hezbollah or any other proxies into Israel, no-one's been injured or killed, swathes of Israel haven't been set on fire and hundreds of thousands of Israelis haven't been displaced for months. Iran and its proxies most definitely haven't attacked Israel at any point or made countless statements that they're committed to its complete destruction. It's been all and only Netanyahu provoking them all along.

Even a 5 year old knows that if you keep provoking entities supposedly "in defence" eventually there will be a response. That's why Netanyahu does it, to keep his power. I wouldn't really be bothered, except for his actions have pushed the world closer to World War 3 all for his own self preservation.

I've often seen "I hope Israel get what it deserves" posted on this board so I guess that extends to the sentiment that death, injury and destruction inflicted upon innocent people is acceptable and justifiable as long as it's Jews, followed by the predictable outrage when the Israelis take steps to prevent Iran and its proxies attacking. I saw Hamas sent their congratulations- they're obviously deeply invested in a positive resolution to the ceasefire negotiations.

On Iran responding to the Israeli breach of it's sovereignty, yesterday the commander in chief of the IRGC responded to a question by saying "You will hear good news about revenge". There are also reports from back in May 2024 that senior Iranian leaders are reviewing their stance against nuclear weapons.

Nasrallah has just given a speech about the military targets that Hezbollah targeted (including the secret base where unit 8200 is housed outside Tel Aviv).

He stated that everyone delayed their response to allow negotiations regarding Gaza. Now that those are basically dead each front will respond separately to the attacks by IDF.

Anyway, Hezbollah themselves don't want a war with Israel (and vice versa).

The most worrying thing here is if this escalates, the talks in Egypt will almost certainly be over.

And the beleaguered Lebanese people have no wish to be dragged into a war started by Iran and Hezbollah but no-one appears to give a shit about them because they're too busy shrieking "Israel started it!".

Hezbollah had their rockets good to go and pointing directly toward central Israel.

Iran doesn't want a war it knows it can't win against the US.

Israel did what was sensible in the circumstances. It says it had intelligence that Hezbollah would attack. And the 300+ rockets fired at Israel would suggest the intelligence was right.

I am very doubtful that Iran will do anything. It wants to fund terrorists to attack Israel and kill Jews, and deny its role, not drag itself into a war it knows it will lose.

No doubt the ‘deeply concerned’ of MN will be along to disparage Israel and “Zionists” - who are of course completely different from Jews.
