What's "bloody ridiculous" about thinking it's a tragedy that innocent lives are at risk when things could be done to reduce that risk?

The innocent lives lost in all conflicts should be a cause for sadness and reflection, not celebration. Countries have a duty to seek to minimise harm to innocent people in conflict situations. There are limits and rules even in war.

Palestinians have been enduring this torture for decades. It is not new and it has happened many times before. These poor mothers have had family members killed by Israel long before hamas.

Perhaps you need to explain your post better because it seems a lot of people have misunderstood you? Can you explain how these mothers and babies denouncing Hamas would help them right now? Or perhaps explain how you know that these mothers aren't denouncing Hamas?

You said that them doing so would 'help' what form would that 'help' take exactly?

The bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were almost certainly war crimes, left unprosecuted only because the victors were the perpetrators. As was Dresden. So yes, where the impact on civilians goes beyond what is justified by legitimate and achievable military objectives, there are limits on the right of a state to defend itself, even if you accept that that's what Israel is engaged in doing.

Babies didn't vote for the Nazi party either nor did the babies of Hiroshima and Nagasaki support or vote in their government and yet...

So what you're saying no country is ever allowed to defend itself in case innocents are harmed who didn't vote them in.

I actually think the derailing serves a useful purpose. That poster sees a thread about newborn babies dying and their immediate response amounts to "Well, they deserve it, because they're Palestinian". These kind of assumptions lie behind a lot of the pro-Israel discourse, so it's illuminating to have them stated so baldly.

It's incredibly sad. I can't imagine the fear that pregnant women must feel knowing the suffering that their precious babies will be born into, our instinct to protect our babies is so strong and primal, having the ability to do that taken away from you is unthinkable.

Awful that people can get so riled up when someone is traumatised by the killing and starvation of so many children. There is also the sexual abuse that these children have endured. So horrific.

Perhaps crack a history book on any oppressive military dictatorship ever and you’d understand that you are blaming the oppressed for their oppression and are expecting people to tell the truth on a survey where the politically wrong answer means death.

Most Gazans do support Hamas even though they cannot fight them. The opinion polls show that most agree with their charter still.

I am beyond hacked off that this war has been permitted to drag on for so long. If it were anyone else the UNSC would have put together UN peacekeepers and the U.S. would have done sanctions to pressure both Nethanyu and his cabinet and Hamas to accept some kind of ceasefire.

It has been day after day of more death and destruction with children suffering the most of all. It is a genocide of children.

Gazans resisted the Hamas take over in 2007 and a lot of them were shot on the spot. Hamas has since then ruthlessly murdered any Gazan suspected of not being sincere in their professed support for Hamas, with a few extra family members for good measure,

Hamas controls Gaza with an iron fist. The very idea that Gazans can just defeat Hamas while starving, fleeing bombs and living on piles of rubble & rubbish with sewage to drink when an entire army, navy and air force armed by the most powerful county in the world is currently failing to do so is absurd.
