What's a bloody ridiculous argument, is comparing people who are trapped in a 25X5 mile concentration camp (where they have been trapped for nearly two decades, where they are now being bombed, shot and starved to death in their thousands) to WW2 Germany and Japan, which were two of the major global powers of the time! Also, as has already been pointed out to you, carpet bombing Germany and dropping nuclear bombs on Hiroshima/Nagasaki was horrific and would be warcrimes if committed today.

My SIL and DB just welcomed their first DC yesterday. Their newborn is safe in a functioning hospital. My SIL has good maternity care.

This is horrendous and reminds me of two years ago when Russia bombed the maternity ward of Mariupol hospital in Ukraine. I saw photos and videos of pregnant women in labour being pulled from under rubble, barely alive, some were killed, at least one newborn was.

We all condemned that. Putin has an ICC arrest warrant out on him.

All of which require Hamas to surrender and Israel to stop.

“Free Palestine” means free Palestinians from both Hamas’ rule and Israel’s occupation.

Hundreds of Jewish participants in these marches, I don’t think they would if these were hate marches.

The marches have all been demanding a ceasefire…that message goes equally to Hamas and Israel because all ceasefires take both sides to agree.

The laws didn’t exist then during WWII that exist today. They were intended to prevent future war crimes from happening although in practice all they have done is create a way by which war criminals can eventually be brought to justice if/or once they fall from power.

I weep and grieve for all innocent souls but Hamas started this present conflict. Where are the marches around the world demanding Hamas surrender ?

I feel the same but we will never make them see what they do not want to see. It is a waste of time to try to.
I try to understand their mind set and I think it comes from fear; fear that acknowledging what is happening is wrong would mean for their belief system.

Yes it's really important to remember this, this isn't new, it's only since 7/10 that it's being widely reported. Palestinian children have been at risk of death for decades, simply for being Palestinian. The blockades, sieges, calorific rationing polices and restrictions imposed by Israel have been the direct cause of malnutrition, anaemia and death of children (and their mothers in pregnancy).

I will try. But some things are so abhorrent I feel compelled to speak up.

This is so incredibly devastating. Next to zero chance of life, let alone self determining. How utterly terrifying it must be as a mother, with the knowledge your child is at very real risk of starvation. Where is the humanity?
Can we please, please stop responding to posters who just try to deflect by derailing, on a thread about dying babies, nonetheless.
