So maybe... IDK... France or someone should land their military on our shores and arrest Tony Blair. I'm sure the army and government will just let them and nothing bad will come of it.

I'd be fine with that... I'm saddened that would be needed, we should have ensured it happened ourselves tbh

charchim · 09/06/2024 20:34

Yes the Israeli government answered death with more death. And you want to answer that with even more death.

No I don't I want 0 death... I want the citizens of Israel to allow people In to ensure Mr Nethayahu gets a free and fair trial.... and if he is innocent then he can turn around and walk back out...

There would only be death is other people didn't want that but then my question is why wouldn't they? If we allow a person to do this to others, what's to stop another human doing this to us?

By the way... Tony Blair lied to this nation regarding Iraq. So yes that should have lead to justice aswell. Just because it has England's name written all over it doesn't mean England is to blame... same for Israel and for palastine. Individuals are responsible and any found guilty should be held to account.

You've just said it right there.... many in the Israeli government think they are serving Justice. The reality is in the beginning they were.....

Until someone decided to use methods incompatible with inncoent civillian human life..... who ever made those decisions should face justice.

You think the IDF would be fine with the British army marching into Israel to arrest their prime minister? Seriously?

And there have been plenty of Invasions throughout history that some would have called serving justice. Many in the Israeli government would think that what's happening in Gaza is serving justice. We were serving justice when we invaded Iraq. Putin probably thinks he's serving justice. Doesn't mean they weren't Invasions that resulted in war and death.

A foreign army coming to serve justice is what I would call it... its only an invasion if the armed forces of said country are against it.... personally if it was my country I'd have absolutely no issue with it, in the interest of humanity as a whole.

So if someone said "I want a foreign army to march into this country uninvited, gonll the way to the capital and arrest the leader" what would you call it? A friendly visit?

@Mummy2024 I’m pretty certain nobody in their right mind would think you are calling for an invasion. Surely this poster is winding you up.

They've jumped on my words and twisted them presumably to make me out to be a bad person and yet they have nothing at all to say about the fact that what they say I am suggesting is already happening right now to palastinians. It says more about them than it does me to be honest. The double standards on show are clear for anyone to see.

I'm not calling for an invasion of anywhere I've already stated that....

Israel has the right to exist I've already stated that also, this fixation on my opinion of how we should as a human race ensure these laws are enforced is being fixated on by certain individuals, who keep showing sheer outrage at the idea of conflict In one country but have absolutely nothing to say about what's happening right now at this moment in another.

How would you say we should bring people named on these warrants to trial?

Edited

You can continually say you want a foreign army to march into a country and say your not calling an invasion, but you are.

I'm no expert but AFAIK the way these arrest warrant are usually carried out is if the person it pertains to lands on foreign soil. If Putin lands on foreign soil we are legally obliged to obtain him. But that doesn't mean marching our troops into Moscow. E.g. invading Moscow. Because that's what an invasion is.

Mummy2024 · 09/06/2024 19:29

charchim · 09/06/2024 19:23

No one wants more people to die.... least of all me... I want Israel to arrest Mr Nethyahu and hand him over.... same for any leader with an arrest warrant for crimes against humanity, the reality is, it isn't going to happen.

If humanity wants atrocities like this to stop happening we Need to stop allowing perpetrators to shelter in protected countries. What is the point in these laws if we allow perpetrators of breaking them to go unpunished?

It's all just lipservice to doing the right thing. There's no appetite to acctually do the right thing and that leaves every single one of us at risk of becoming victims of it.

No we should still arrest Mr Putin also, it is more difficult with WMD involved to enter Russia. It will lead to armagedon. I think other methods of apprehension would need to be employed.

However I still feel the actions of Mr Netanyahu versus the actions of Mr Putin has really shown us the true gravity of what has happened in Gaza in just 6 months and the double standards employed when it suits by certain leaders. Some have behaved more than fairly such as Germany and a few others. I have huge respect for that.

Israel most likely has nuclear weapons too. But you still want an invasion bu (presumably) the UK and the open war it would lead to.

Mummy2024 · 09/06/2024 19:20

TrickyRibbon · 06/06/2024 22:08

My thoughts are that it's up to judges to determine whether there's enough evidence for a warrant to be issued, not me. But if one is issued, I'm not naive or bloodthirsty enough to hope it means troops storming into Tel Aviv.

There is an arrest warrant out for Putin. You are suggesting that if an arrest warrant is issued for Neranyahu we should invade Israel and arrest him. But not Putin.

10,000 civilian deaths is not enough for an invasion but 35,000 is. Where exactly is the arbitrary line that you have drawn? And when it has been crossed in Ukraine then do we invade Russia? Or Gaza, if the arrest warrant is issued?

10,000 In 2 years btw, not 35000 in 6 months.... the time and methods used matter greatly, and they have shown me the true gravity of horrendous treatment and suffering that the palastinians are facing.

Secondly I've already said if Hamas leaders remain at large when this is over yes other countries should enter and hold them to account. If it wouldn't cause a world ending apocalypse any leader with a warrent for arrest should be apprehended but sadly we are where we are and wmds exist and are preventing it.

Regarding Russia. You use a bad example for a number of reasons. One of them and I think supporters of Mr Nethenahu would do well to look at the numbers of the Russia, Ukraine conflict and weigh them against the Israel, hamas conflict.

Russia has killed 10,000 Ukrainian civilians in 2 years. That's 10,000 to many but what it hasn't done is kill 35,000 in 6 months. It also didn't withold vital aid and it didn't prevent civilians fleeing as refugees.

I think what's happening In Gaza has shown us that whilst Russia should leave Ukraine and it remains wrong that it invaded, it has conducted itself very differently than Mr Nethenahu and yet has recieved alot more criticism from leaders of the west.

But hasn't been invaded by us.

You didn't ask me a question. I asked you one, about Putin. I could say you conveniently evaded mine if I felt like being a dick.

So Gaza hasn't been invaded? Incidentally yes I think gaza should be entered also if hamas leaders remain at large.

I wanted to create a separate post for your Russia comparison. I think if Mr Putin was to actually stand trial he would use the numbers of deaths and methods of warfare used in Gaza as part of his defence to be honest. The difference is stark and it really opened my eyes to the double standards used when it suits by some western leaders....

Mummy2024 · 09/06/2024 18:44

charchim · 09/06/2024 15:27

Yes, how dare someone care about the bloodshed that would result in the invasion you're calling for.

Incidentally, do you think we should invade Russia and arrest Putin? Do you think that would go well for anyone?

And for that matter, if an arrest warrant is issued for the Hamas leaders should be invade Gaza to arrest them?

Sorry I've been away a few days. I did call them a liar and then I realised they were not so I apologised. Secondly they seemed extremely concerned that if other countries entered Israel to capture Netanyahu that people would die, they asked if that's what i wanted and suggested it shouldn't happen because of that and yet they showed absolutely no concern what so ever for the palastinians currently dying for the capture of Hamas. Thats double standards and if that thought process was followed in every country, how many blood thirsty genocidal leaders would still be in power?
