I really do think that too many protestors have overstepped the mark now and those marching with them have not done enough to keep them peaceful and non-threatening.

If Labour has any plans to concede to this intifada- I as a lifelong voter WILL defect. And I never thought I'd say that.

Salman Rushdie was spot on about the protestors in his recent interview. He has been a long standing supporter of a Palestinian state and like any normal person is horrified by the suffering in Gaza.

But he acknowledges that a Palestinian state right now would be run by Hamas and he can’t understand why the protestors seem to be agitating for this.

Chants of “intifada revolution” rang out and a smoke bomb was set off at a large pro-Palestinian demonstration in central London on Saturday.

Pro-Palestinian protesters carried placards including one depicting Rishi Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer with blue horns and Israeli flags across their mouths. One held a sign saying “Anti-Semitism is a label to silence the truth and justify evil.”

The force is having to police the protest on the same weekend as four Premier League football fixtures in the capital, two Wembley play-off finals and a demonstration at the Eritrean Embassy.
