Anyway, I believe that refugees should be treated like humans rather than cargo. If they feel that they need to leave their homes they should have some kind of say in where they go. Maybe they don't want to go to Egypt just because it's the physically closest country? It's a different culture and a different dialect from what they're used to. It'd be a bit like sending a Spanish refugee to France - I'm sure they'd have a few things in common but also loads that they wouldn't. Maybe the UK would be a better fit for some Palestinians than Egypt would be. I don't know. It's also not up to me to make that judgement, I feel like it should be at least partly up to them.

There are Palestinians who know full well what Hamas truly are. These people should be helped wherever possible, if for no other reason than that they will hopefully one day be the ones in charge of Gaza. Hopefully, they are the future.

I'm not interested in taking sides. The Israeli government and the IDF have also said and done awful, dehumanising things about the Palestinians.

Since Netanyahu announced his entirely impossible goal of "eliminating Hamas" I've been deeply worried about the number of Gazans who will die unnecessarily as a result. Pretty much everything I was worried about has and is happening.

The majority of Gazans are displaced. Hundreds of thousands are starving and we know children and babies are most likely to die in famine. This is entirely man made and there is no end in sight. It's shocking in the 21st Century.

I don't think any amount of barbarity from Hamas justifies what's happening in Gaza.

Not sure why anyone would think Hamas genuinely all of a sudden changed their minds about hating Jews 😂 It's still the same people, doing the same thing. They just toned down their charter to win over support from idiots people in the west and it worked. As a general rule, you probably shouldn't trust terrorists.

It's really quite something to witness the same people who have spent months talking over, belittling and giving their opinions about Jews (not just Israelis, but Jews), now complaining about racism.

This thread has confirmed that the majority of posters supporting Israel have nothing but hate towards Palestinians, that all you can see them as are terrorist supporting psychopaths. You do not see them as innocent civilians but a threat to you all even the children I guess. They are people that do not deserve to feel safe, do not deserve to be safe and do not deserve asylum at a time of crisis. The way you have also turned on posters and ganged up on them is just so toxic.

In the footage of Hamas fighters on October 7th they used the words ‘Jew’ and ‘Jews’ repeatedly for the people they were searching for to murder ( often accompanied by ‘dog’). Not Israeli.
