We can't just ignore the rest of your post when determining wether or not you're minimising antisemitism. That'd be incredibly foolish. So on a whole, yes you are minimising the severity and frequency of anti-Semitism. Not quite sure why but I'm sure your agenda will soon become apparent.

which straight out reads that numbers of incidents of antisemitism are inflated by conflation with criticism of Israel. ie the numbers are not as high as we are saying they are.

actually rereading my second sentence (that it’s therefore not as bad I.e the numbers make out it’s worse than it is) , you are right, you didn’t say that. It’s just that this criticism has been leveled at Jewish posters so frequently on this board, that we use cries of antisemitism to shut down discussion about the war, which is apparently “diluting” the severity of antisemitism ( sorry can’t remember who said that), that I automatically thought that was what you meant.

We also have an increase in hateful bots on social media stirring the pots and encouraging this division.

I think it's slightly more complicated than that! Genocide cannot be supported whoever does it. You can think that and also know anti-Semitism is wrong. All the Jews on the marches are testiment to that.

@EllaDisenchanted you're not going crazy, your interpretation is exactly what they said. That anti-Semitism figures are up because people get accused of antisemitism for criticising Israel. The poster doesn't seem to be particularly bothered with the fact that this isn't actually true. They're purposely minimising antisemitism on a thread about antisemitism.

Sorry! I meant 'other races' as in if we're comparing hate figures, it is quite often racial. I did not mean to imply that Jewish is a race. Of course there are Jewish people of all races. Apologies for that.

So you are saying antisemitism figures are inflated because of conflation with criticism of Israel? so it’s not really so bad, because a lot of the numbers are just Jews crying ‘antisemitism!’ every time Israel is criticized? On a thread about an arrest of individuals who actively planned a mass massacre of Jews?

If anything, anecdotally, the numbers are more likely severely underreported. My friend had a difficult incident where her primary school age kids were targeted in a playground through the gates by kids in a school abutting the playground, and verbally harassed. She did not report. The numerous incidents I experienced growing up, I did not report. We are both very visibly religious Jews. Most Jews are so resigned to it, we don’t bother to report. It is almost a feature of life. You’re speaking about something that you have no lived experience of.

And don't get me started on your use of the word "races". What race do you think all Jews are, exactly?

The definition of antisemitism doesn't include not allowing any questioning of the state of Israel. Stop spreading misinformation in an attempt at stirring up more outrage and hatred.

I remember reading years ago that anti-Semitic hate crimes were increasing anyway. Then on top of that COVID happened, and instead of just getting vaccinated, my socials were awash with “Jewish people rule the world and it’s an evil plot to…”

It would be naive of us to assume the UK is not an anti-Semitic place. I am very critical of the Isreali government but we have to admit that people are using it as a cover for bigotry. This needs to be rooted out at an institutional level.
