There was a very good article in the Times by AHMED FOUAD ALKHATIB - a Palestinian living in New York. He is anti Hamas and pro Peace . He has lost 31 family members in the Gaza in this war , including young children. He described some of them in such affectionate and loving terms. All individuals.
He blames both Hamas and the Israeli government but his article makes it clear that what is happening in Gaza is inhumane and cruel.

If some one pushes a man in to a road then a car runs them over and they die. Who is actually the killer?

Where are the posts suggesting this or supporting Hamas? People are angry and upset about what is happening in Rafah that doesn't mean we support Hamas.

Those poor poor people in Gaza have suffered far too much. I cannot imagine how they carry on each day with the terror and anxiety they must feel. And the sorrow at the impact on their children.

It’s really disgusting to read. There are over half a million children in Rafah. And most likely many of the remaining hostages. And no safe place to go. It’s sickening to think of the imminent slaughter that’s about to happen.

I have compassion for those babies being murdered. I have compassion for the kids actually starving because aid is being damaged and shot at. What is happening to those people is genocide.

If you have nothing compassionate or respectful to say, say nothing. It's not hard. There are many places on this board and elsewhere where people can celebrate, dismiss or ignore the murders of innocent people in Gaza. Go there. I and others like me already know what our lives mean to you. We don't need you to keep reminding us.

I didn't call anyone else a Hamas supporter. I'd like to think that anyone who actually genuinely cares about the Palestinian cause would hate Hamas as much as I do.

There is absolutely nothing the UK can do about it or are people expecting the U.K. to go to war with Isreal? So in essence team up with Iran and Hamas.

Iran and Israel have been gearing up to this for years. They dont give a shit about what the U.K. think. Hamas and Iran don’t care about their own people. They are happy for the Palestinians to be killed in the name of martyrdom- they have even said this on TV. Hamas are firing rockets at aid being delivered - they want these people to be isolated. Hamas have sacrificed their own people for the benefit of Iran.

The only possible way this will end is the complete surrender of all Hamas leaders and the release of the hostages. Hamas knew they would never win - so the question is why did they allow thousands of their people to be slaughtered?

Israel's evacuation orders to civilians in Rafah portend the worst: more war and famine. It is unacceptable.

Israel must renounce to a ground offensive and implement UNSCR 2728.

The EU, with the International Community, can and must act to prevent such scenario.

Netanyahu has made no secret of the fact that he was going into Rafah regardless of a ceasefire, regardless of any hostages being released. His sole aim is take over Gaza. There is nothing left, people are dead, starving and displaced. Israel are a terror state who have used the atrocities on October 7th as an excuse to obliterate Gaza and it's people

I'm assuming aid will be significantly reduced after Hamas fired rockets from Rafah directly at the main crossing used for delivering aid.
