I'm baffled, honestly. Are you aware that Israel kills innocent Palestinian men, women and children and have done for a long time? Far more than Hamas have ever killed. That they take far more of them from their beds and torture and abuse them and have done for years? That Israel have a long documented history of using Palestinians as 'human shields'. Why aren't you giving equal blame to Israel here? Showing your disgust for the documented human rights abuses and unlawful killing carried out by Israel for decades?

You are presented a very one sided account of what has happened and ignoring Israels long history of being 'trouble makers'.

Gaza, when IDF withdrew many years ago, Gaza could have become a very rich, prosperous holiday destination judging by all of the money Arab countries gave to it along with the other countries inc west via aid etc

I cannot believe, it never stops amazing me (and angering me) that I was only 8 the first time I remember watching news about Israel and Palestine conflict. Then, year after year, still at war.
I can say this is the very thing that broke my faith in humankind. That it went on for years and years, into my teens. I am 46 years old now, and still going. Actually, at its worst.

This is no surprise. He has been saying the IDF would go into Rafah for ages now.
If any of the hostages is still alive, it is very likely they are in Rafah and most likely they will be killed and buried under rubble in an attack.
Hamas is not going to surrender or release the hostages to defend the Palestinians, because they could not care less about them.
IDF will not capture or eliminate any Hamas fighters because if there was any leader there, they had more than plenty of warning to scamper elsewhere.
What will happen is that thousands of civilians will suffer, the world will witness it all again and then.... nothing.
US has already started on the sanctions (military batallions) and they will crack down heavier. UK shall follow. UN will have another ceasefire resolution, this time they may not get that tangled with the words. Even US may vote on favour!
ICJ may have further actions for Israel.
But, nothing of this is changing what is happening on the ground. Palestinians killed, not a trace of a negotiation table on sight, Israel under pressure from rockets, international pressure, internal cracks...
Israel keeps ignoring Biden, their very very important ally, and further and further allienating itself from those democratic values Netanyahu keeps referring to, but clearly does not have. At this point, I do not see any morality or common sense left on Israel current government or the IDF. They need to go.
Same for Hamas, they are finished. They have proven enough they have no care whatsoever for their own people.
I am just looking forward, because I know that day will come, in less than a year I reckon, where neither Hamas or Netanyahu's likud will be in power, and there will be negotiations between Israel and Palestine, the final ones. When the actions are actually complied with.

@Newbutoldfather You are right but I was applying the quote to Hamas, rather than all the Arab world. I was shocked at the lack of emotion from the leader who was on camera when told of the death of three sons and it brought that quote to mind

@ConnieCounter It is horrendous but, sadly, is likely to continue as long as Hamas keep attacking Israel at every opportunity and using their own people as shields. What Israel is doing is appalling but I hope there is a special place in Hell reserved for the leaders of Hamas who have plotted this from safety and luxury that has been paid for by the poor innocents they sacrifice without a care

There haven't been free elections since then so this "fight" against Hamas is ridiculous. And in any case doesn't warrant the murder of tens of thousands of innocent Palestinian civilians, most of whom are children

What can we do about Israeli hatred of Palestinian children? They've killed in the region of 13000-14000 of them in 7 months. And are killing more every day.

But , you do realise Israel has made peace with most of the Arab world now, and may yet sign a deal with the Saudis. And Arabs actually shot down Iranian drones headed for Israel.
