What does that mean my ‘thing’?

Do you mean that I think Hamas should surrender so the war can stop? Is that not an acceptable viewpoint to you? Do you think the citizens of Gaza should continue to be governed by Hamas after they deliberately sacrificed them to an unimaginable hell by starting a war to further their own agenda? Not just over the last 7 months but over the last 17 years or do you think Gazans have been living in peace and prosperity since Hamas took power?

I have only posted my ‘thing’ on this topic, the Conflict in the Midddle East board, IIRC.

Netanyahu has said he’ll not stop until Hamas’s military and government infrastructure is destroyed and all the Israeli hostages are returned.

Kind of makes you wonder why the international community, who profess to care so much about Palestinians, is not demanding Qatar hand over the Hamas leaders hiding there, the return of the hostages and negotiating a peace keeping force to allow Hamas ‘freedom fighters’ to surrender.

Here we go again, Israel just blithely orders “evacuate the hospital” knowing full well that’s an impossibility 😡 then they will storm it and fire on it, killing and injuring patients and staff. Oh and for good measure they will take (and probably torture) some doctors, insisting they are Hamas. No change then 😡😡

Kuwaiti hospital have just received 'evacuation orders' from the IDF - can't imagine where they will go - nearest hospitals in Khan Younis and Deir-al-Balah both overwhelmed already and have no fuel for generators

So about to be no hospitals in Rafah for 1 million people and an incoming land invasion/on-going bombardment

UN estimates that 360000 people have fled Rafah so still around 1 million left there

Lots of coverage of the re-invasion/intense bombardment of Jabalia rather than what's happening in Rafah

Sorry, I have just found that what I posted there was The Washington Post in archive ph.

So the previous Haaretz newsfeed paragraph was evidently a little exaggerated in seeming to claim so much knowledge about tunnels and the whereabouts of Hamas leaders on the part of the US.

It appears to be the case that it is more that they could help Israel look for them.

That seems to match what Washington. Post is saying as well.

There is very little more detail though regarding the idea of America giving the IDF intelligence about where Hamas leaders and their tunnels are except this:

The Biden administration, working urgently to stave off a full-scale Israeli invasion of Rafah, is offering Israel valuable assistance if it holds back, including sensitive intelligence to help the Israeli military pinpoint the location of Hamas leaders and find the group’s hidden tunnels, according to four people familiar with the U.S. offers.

And also, this detail:

U.S. officials are now working closely with Egypt to find and cut off tunnels that cross the Egypt-Gaza border in the Rafah area, which Hamas has used to replenish militarily, according to two people familiar the discussions.

Surely it's better for the US to share this than for Israel to just keep bombing lots of places in Gaza. I don't understand it either.
So the US is saying they have the intelligence but hasn't shared it with their allies? But all this time have continued to supply bombs knowing its likely to continue harming civilians

And exactly if the US knows where the Hamas leaders are hiding why haven't they told Israel before??!

Can anyone understand this? If the USA knows where Hamas leaders and their tunnels are, why ever did they not tell the IDF in the first place?

And, if there were reasons such as not wanting to appear implicated in direct actions against Hamas, what has changed?

There's no care consideration or concern

They are quite simply 'in the way' of bigger plans

They have been given so little time to evacuate. Some families have been forced to split up, with some evacuating with the children to Mawasi or wherever they can and some staying behind with the elderly who can't make the journey, frantically trying to find a cart or some other way they can take the vulnerable out before the bombing starts.
It's just sickening how they are treated as less than human.

@Parkingt111 Not 100% certain but think that there are 2 separate 'evacuations' one in Rafah and one in northern gaza where there has been a resurgence of Hamas - details of the latter are a bit vague

But Jabalia is currently being heavily bombarded and people are leaving rather than being told to go there

I have seen that some people are being asked to move back to Jabalia from Rafah?
Is that true does anyone know? That's 22 miles from Rafah in the heat walking with barely any food and water

It's sandy dunes with barely any provisions.
I don't care if I get backlash for saying this but the Israeli government actions right now are seriously depraved. All lines have been crossed.
No thought has been given to the young, the weak and the vulnerable.
