So inspiring, I'm so proud of them and yes their conviction is unwavering, they have most of the MSM against them, have been doxxed and threatened with never getting jobs once they graduate and still they stand strong ✊️❤️

Great to see Motaz, it's important to keep him safe as I believe he will testify about what he witnessed.

@BelleHathor I’ve been following them too, it’s very inspiring isn’t it, to see the brave students as well as many staff. ❤️

Also I just saw MoTaz has joined them 🙌

@Finallyloggedin he really captured the feeling of so many people. Righteous Indignation!

Keep at eye on the Columbia University protests, the students are really standing strong.

An interesting article in Haaretz:

“This government has reached the point at which it must endure the unendurable, admit failure, and immediately resign so that someone else can open a new page. It is vital to establish a new government, one that will be guided by a different moral compass, will end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and will begin to rebuild our international standing. If we don't change our policy toward the Palestinians, we will be left to face Iran alone, and our end will be like that of Samson, who in impotent rage brought down the house on the heads of everyone.”

Interesting- thank you

This tweet says it much better than I can,

What the ruling class and their simps haven’t yet realised is that this isn’t just a ‘high water mark’ from which the pressure recedes back to a point where the public meekly accepts the brazen hypocrisy of the ruling order and the tyranny on which it relies.
^^
This moment is part of an ongoing transformation to a world where no crime will be hidden behind media spin for long; where people understand the evils of colonialism and imperialism and will refuse to be party to it with greater and greater force; and where organisation, mass protest and direct action are everyday tools at our disposal to achieve the political goals of decolonisation and anti-imperialism.

Simone Zimmerman, founder of IfNotNowOrg:

“I genuinely don’t know how anyone who is seriously committed to the safety and well-being of Jews can see a single decision made by people in power this week as doing anything but deeply endangering Jewish people at Columbia and beyond🧵

The crisis at Columbia is a direct result of university leadership’s caving to pressure from bad actors- whose goal is to deepen the repression of pro Palestinian activism and speech and to undermine academic freedom and dismantle universities. Period.

After a deeply Orwellian show trial in Congress, calling the NYPD to arrest over a hundred peaceful student protesters, suspending them, locking them out of their dorms, dining, campus, is so deeply cruel. How is anyone made safer by a decision like this?

As the White House, Jake Tapper, ADL, AJC etc release alarmist statements abt Jewish students, they made no mention of the Jews who were made homeless this week by Columbia, left out in the cold literally & figuratively on Shabbat and now on Passover because of their politics

And again none of these people express a drop of care or concern for the safety of Palestinian, Arab, Muslim, Black and brown students arrested by NYPD at Columbia’s request. And harassed, surveilled, doxxed nonstop for the last six months on campus. As people are dying in Gaza.
Wielding undemocratic power in the name of keeping Jews safe will not ensure that ANYONE who has engaged in antisemitic behaviors or speech will change. It will instead reinforce for them and their peers, the idea that Jews have disproportionate power — a core antisemitic belief.

Jewish students are safe from discrimination when all students are safe from discrimination.

When Jewish students are singled out — either for protection or for discrimination — they are made less safe. Period.

It is beyond maddening and heartbreaking to see that people hate Palestinians so much that they’re willing to to anything- incl endanger Jewish people around the world- as they do everything possible to protect Israel’s impunity and killing machine in Gaza.

Let’s talk about safety on university campuses. Let’s talk about how Israel bombed every university in Gaza. Let’s talk about how right now, in Gaza, families are uncovering the remains of their loved ones’ rotting corpses, their massacres a joint project of Israel and America.

This is why American college students are protesting. They are watching these massacres and they refuse to be silent. And now they are rising up even more to protest not just this country’s institutions’ investment in genocide but also the assault on their freedoms here at home.”

I thought it might be useful to have a thread to record articles such as the ones above, written by Israeli scholars, as well as information about Israeli citizens protesting the genocide. Just saw these videos of the protests against Netanyahu in Tel Aviv, including some placards in support of the Palestinians. I hope this will inspire more Israelis to find out what their government are actually doing to innocent Palestinians and to start protesting more

Someone's finally got the memo. No returning to the status quo of how it was before.

Most of the world is rightly horrified by the inhumane atrocities they've seen in response to October 7th meted out by the Israeli government.

From Gaza to Iran, the Netanyahu government is endangering Israel's survival
