My mistake, he is standing but as an Independent as he's lost the Labour Whip.

I thought he would effectively be standing but without labour support and so if elected would be in the house as an independent.
Sir kier is certainly right that he has changed the party out of all recognition. Debatable whether it is still a party. What next, sir keir has plastic surgery to change himself out of all recognition and the voters can guess which masked singer/cartoon character he is?

Labour has now cut their endorsement of Azhar Ali as it seems more of his comments have come to light. He won't be standing but it's too late to take his name off the ballot paper

George Galloway was a presenter on Russia Today and used to have his own show. (As did Alex Salmond) Unfortunately we can't see that programme any more as I believe it's been banned from UK.

He (Galloway) was also a Brexit supporter.

So you could say he has a cosmopolitan outlook.

It will be interesting to see what platform he fights his campaign on.

I would rather spoil my ballot than vote for a politician or a party that believes that genocide is a reasonable solution to a problem.

I think it's meant to be East Baghdad. I know that it is racist in that it explicitly states that Galloway only represents a certain race of people.

It could work and honestly would be the best thing for the country (as in, it will limit the damage that can be done with a large majority and hopefully encourage co-operation).

Feinstein is a gem, He is often a speaker on twitter spaces and it's fascinating listening to him recount how terrible Apartheid South Africa was and how many western countries just stood by.

He told a wonderful story of how Mandela met Thatcher after being released and reminded her of when she'd suggested that the SA government "get rid" of Mandela.

I’ve very late to this thread and have quickly read through it.

Long term labour voter here, there is no way on earth I’ll be voting for Starmers party. I’m in favour of a socialist party as a proper opposition, which is a pipe dream I know.

I do think Labour are now running scared, literally in the last few weeks, they have flipped and flopped. They know they’ve lost the majority of the Muslim vote, they have removed the whip from certain pro-ceasefire MP’s sacking for minor infractions, yet have made it clear their candidate is still standing in Rochdale after his massive cock up.
The interesting thing to me, is the independents are starting to work together. They’ve put indie Leanne Mohamed a Palestinian candidate up against Wes Streeting. Andrew Feinstein ( this guy is a great speaker) up against Starmer’s constituent. George Galloway ( love him or hate him) in Rochdale. Sam Gorst in Liverpool Garsten there are many more. Could this work ? A hung parliament when there is no whip, you get what you elected voting for your concerns. No majority so they have to talk cross house and vote individually. Someone way more knowledgable than me could give their opinion on this, Greens and Independents working in a similar way ? Maybe look at your independents with fresh eyes ?
