anyone who supports the governments position but criticises these protesters is a total hypocrite. Destabilising the Middle East will cause mass civilian casualties, worse then we are currently seeing. Frankly you should be ashamed of yourselves. De-escalation and ceasefire is the only solution if you genuinely care about civilians.

It's shocking. The chanters are not very bright. The Houthis they cheer on are preventing the aid ships getting through to Yemen.

I think it’s inappropriate and my main concern (as with all extreme protesters) is they will detract from legitimate protest against our government’s unequivocal support for the Israeli Government’s actions and play into the hands of those who want to discredit those calling for a ceasefire .

The Houthis became extremists following the Iraq war. It was the Iraq war that led to the Houthis officially adopting the slogan, 'God Is Great, Death to America, Death to Israel, Curse on the Jews, Victory to Islam'.

The Iraq war that the US led and we were part of, completely destabilized the Middle East and encouraged all sorts to extremists to flourish. not least ISIS.

We can call the Houthis terrorists but what do we call our war on Iraq? A war with absolutely no basis that destabilised a huge region and allowed all sorts of terrorist groups to grow up. Are we terrorists for our involvement in a war that killed thousands - possibly hundreds of thousands of civilians?

Of course I don't agree with people chanting "Yemen, Yemen make us proud, turn another ship around!" No one should be treating attacks or war like it is some kind of football game. Hundreds of thousands of people have already died in Yemen, the country is a complete disaster.

I really think though we need to look at the results of our actions in the past and learn from them. Not expect to do the same things and get different results. We really need to think long term.

It only started after mass civilian casualties in Gaza, so it makes sense that a ceasefire would curtail the activities. Far better to try a peaceful solution then bomb them and when that doesn’t work bomb the whole country.

Glad I don't live in London with all the protests about anything and everything. We have a square in our town where every Saturday you get a group of about 10-15 people protesting about something. I've come to recognise it's the mainly the same people protesting every weekend.

I’ve no reason to doubt it. However if it didn’t then there would be more of a case for military action. As I it stands this escalation that certain posters seem to want is going to be terrible for civilians. Maybe that should be our focus Noblegiraffe? Not if people are eating McDonalds and drinking Starbucks in sufficient quantities but encouraging de-escalation from our war mongering politicians.

Imagine a world where our politicians cared about civilians in the Middle East ( the non Israeli ones). Imagine instead of dropping bombs as the answer they asked for a ceasefire instead. This is what is going to happen, we use ‘targeted’ bombing it doesn’t work, so then we think fuck it and just turn Yemen into the new Gaza and the terrible cycle of western violence on Middle East civilians continues.
