You have interpreted an "open mindedness" as determination to pin the attack on Israel.

What it actually means is that I have considered several scenarios, including the possibility of a false flag operation by an Iranian proxy to try to provoke them to join the war. It's impossible for us to truly understand the dynamics between these groups and their relationship with Iran but "biting the hand that feeds" seems like a risky strategy so I'm not convinced by that idea.

In many conflicts and regions of the world we have been given an official narrative which later turned out to be a complete lie.

Something about the NY Times article seemed off to me so I'm keeping an open mind.

I can't speak for BelleHathor but I'm very open minded about it. I have my personal theory about what might have happened but I keep in mind that I don't have enough information to know, for certain, one way or the other.

IF Israel did have a hand in it then the ISIS explanation allows Iran to stay out of the war, for now, without seeming weak.

Most people don't want this to escalate to a regional war.

Some people would be happier to just blame Israel. Any other explanation wouldn't be accepted.

Made up of dissident groups many trained and armed by Western agencies.

Has mostly killed Muslims in the region and whose aims to destroy/fight the exact same enemies of the West (Hezbollah, Hamas, Assad etc).

Perfect timing too after the rapprochement brokered by China between Saudi Arabia and Iran, who incidentally both became members of the BRICS alliance on Monday.

Well many Britain expects have been right from about an hour after it happened. I read then that some were saying it was almost definitely done by a sunni group. The style and tactics had them all over it apparently

So they blow up lots of people in protest at other people being killed (not the brightest are they) then blame Israel.

@xenia (unconfirmed) news today was Hezbollah have pulled back their forces a little bit from the border.

(Disclaimer: I haven't seen sources) Apparently ISIS attacked and killed 6 members of Hezbollah and stole from their warehouse. And Hezbollah posted a video threatening to start war (with Israel I assume). Also at least one of the bombs was a suicide attacker.

It's very very messy, I literally feel like I can't keep up at the moment.

Hamas = ISIS has never meant they get on well. It means the kinds of practices based on a terrible extremist interpretation of the Koran and violence are common to both.

The Financial Times refers to a UN resolution still not enforced that perhaps more efforts should be put into now to help protect Israel's other border and push Hizbollah back to get the Iranian backed group well away from Israel with a buffer zone established which seems a very sensible idea to me. If people cannot live in harmony then just like if you have two fighting children you put them in different rooms as indeed have North and South Korea organised with their no man's land between them which no one crosses. A bit more info in the NY Times. I can't put my finger on why but the story seems fishy to me. Very plausible but I'm not convinced.

@EasterIssland do you have a source for this claim please? I can’t find anything. It seems like it was more to do with internal unrest and power struggles within Iran and neighbouring countries.

It's why I was so suprised at the whole Hamas is Isis narrative at the start of the war. I'm pretty sure the two groups don't even get along because of Hamas's links and support with Iran.
