Qatar have warned Hamas leadership to move to Algeria to get out of the reach of Mossad. I hope very much they take this route on both fronts.

According to IDF figures they have killed approx 7000 which means there are still atleast 20 thousand remaining

The amount of infrastructure that has been destroyed aswell as civilian deaths when a third haven't even been killed is crazy. Have you seen any of the aerial images of areas in Gaza from before and after? Even if the war ended today I don't know where many civilians would live. So much has been destroyed

Thats interesting because there have been lots and lots of articles by military analysts from the start - try Lawrence Freedman, Shashank Joshi & others about the great difficulty of defeating Hamas quickly because of them holding hostages, their use of human shields and the use of tunnels. IDF of course could have done it quicker if they had actually done what they have been accused of and just obliterated everything.

@stomachameleon I don't know much about him tbh. When the war started I would never have thought it would still be ongoing after all this time. I honestly thought Hamas would be defeated by now. Maybe I under estimated them or then over estimated the IDF.
Either way I just wish it would all end.

@Parkingt111 I assume the tunnels are the last place he wants to be as that's where the IDF are expecting him to be. I have read a few articles about him though to suggest he is at odds with the Hamas hierarchy in Qatar which makes me wonder if he will be sacrificed in order for peace or some sort of collaborative government or power. I think he is expendable.

I am pretty sure there are atleast some Hamas supporters in Egypt. It would he pretty easy for him to get out if he wanted to via the tunnels.

Also I don't see why he would use a humanitarian convoy at the start of the ground invasion to move to the south when he can just use the tunnels

I would support that too - and also clamp down on the settlers and make them hand back the homes they took.

Imo it’ll take a few years now before any permanent political agreements can be reached with Palestine. Some sort of pause needs to be agreed upon. In the meantime there are some tough times ahead and there will almost certainly be more attacks on Israel.

If Israel got rid of its extremist government and did all you said and asked for help from as many of its neighbours as possible with intelligence and with rooting out Hamas leaders I would speak out in its support. All military aid to Israel needs to focus on defence and intelligence and prosecution of gangsters and terrorists, not on attacking innocent children. Gaza needs time to rebuild, deal with their enormous burden of trauma and get their children back to school (and the schools in both Palestine and Israel need to be internationally monitored for hate teaching - both are guilty of this). Gazans need to be able to travel freely and interact normally with the world. Some sort of arrangement has to be made where they can do this while still allowing Israel to defend its borders. The layout is so odd currently. Something HAS to be done about that.

In a few years time when certain goals have been reached everyone can sit down and talk about a long term solution but imo no good will come of rushing into a decision now.

@Thereissomelight I don't think it's all antisemitism and tbh If your not shocked by constant streaming of distressing images then there is something wrong with you. I don't believe after 7/10 Israel has a choice... inaction would have been perceived as weakness.

The point you have made about Israel is proof to me why sinwar etc have to go. I agree you can't remove an ideology but you can remove figureheads who don't support their people and put in power a supportive and supported government.

I don't think that should be guided by Israel. I hope Israel pulls back, doubles down on the border and let's unwra and UN do their jobs.
I hope it turns inwardly from war onwards. I would woke on relations with UEA and Saudi and freeze out Qatar. I would send Mossad after the top dogs in Hamas.

They are just my ramblings. Sorry for the tangent. I Don't use antisemitism glibly as I think that's wrong and takes away from its clout.

No, I think most people don’t know much history. I think a lot of people don’t know what they’re talking about in a broader context, to be honest.

It’s a huge problem, I agree. Most of all for Israel. As you say, the trauma of violence and war (and loss of schooling, homes and hope) is a breeding ground for terrorists. It has certainly been a breeding ground to date for Hamas. So this is what Israel has to look forward to, multiplied tenfold now probably. All these traumatised children with their futures wiped out will come of age in a few years and what does Israel think many of them will do? Does Israel expect indefinite support from the US?

All these people criticising Israel’s behaviour in Gaza - not all of them are antisemitic. Not even most. But I would say that most are shocked that a “civilised democracy” would kill SO many children and bewildered by what Israel thinks or hopes to achieve by doing so.

Because they are antisemitic. Why do you think Jewish people have had to leave all these countries in the first place? Do you people study any history at all?.

Listen I know at the moment it's easy to do that but Syria is at war so a breeding ground for terrorists and militants and Lebanon has Hamas sympathisers.

Also lots of countries are not happy about Israel's relations with countries thawing. Certain countries in the region you can't even visit with an Israeli passport.

You know all this and it's not a debate if you want to do that. If you prefer the echo chamber I will leave you to it....

These aren't new things mind you. There is a reason most houses have bomb shelters and safe rooms. Both countries have issues with terrorists and militants.
