The deputy mayor of East Jerusalem has called for them all to be buried alive, what did someone say about the Geneva Convention ? This is Israel we are talking about, they don’t adhere to rules.

Yes they are prisoners of war.

Don’t know about the facility, unlikely it was there before the war though. It’s fairly common to have mobile bases and camps in war.

Perhaps the most interesting thing about the AJ article I posted earlier is that the IDF have a facility within Gaza where people like this are taken after being arrested?

Surmise that these men & boys are the tip of the iceberg of arrestees - from the IDF checkpoints, the 200 people detained when Al Shifa 'fell', the 35 medics, etc etc

The whole purpose of a dogwhistle is that if confronted the person can just deny while feeling reassured that the racist message has been received & understood by the intended victim

We’ve managed to confirm that a number of Palestinians who were arrested in and around Beit Lahia in northern Gaza have been released.

The Israeli army says a few of them had surrendered, but many of them were at the UN schools thinking that was a safe haven, and suddenly, the army appeared and took them away.

Some of these men would have been interrogated by the Israeli army and also by Shin Bet, the intelligence service, and that would’ve happened either in Israel or in a special facility that has been created in Gaza.

One person were identified by locals as a student. One man was there with his two children. Another was described as a shopkeeper with no links to Hamas. And there was a well-known local journalist among them.

I think the only hope now is a ceasefire for atleast some relief

@Parkingt111 maybe it's too difficult to think about especially considering that if the ceasefire vote fails the already dire situation spirals off into what the UN are calling 'the point of no return'

I find it hard to imagine how those who want to leave could actually leave - Israel and Egypt would likely not co-operate for their own different reasons. And who could administer such a task

I'm sorry to be so negative - I fear a more chaotic violent departure if it happens for example if the IDF bombards the Hamas rocket-launchers at al Mawasi then a panicked crowd of 50, 000 starving desperate people at the Rafah gate...................

A ceasefire for these people would save their lives at least for the time being but it's like hoping for a miracle
