This fella was so ashamed of what he did in the IDF that he founded an organisation for ex-soldiers called Breaking the Silence which takes a special kind of bravery to swim against the tide and recognise the huge injustices that have been committed against the Palestinians.

Founded in March 2004 by a group of soldiers who served in Hebron, Breaking the Silence has since acquired a special standing in the eyes of the Israeli public and in the media because of its unique role in giving voice to the experience of soldiers. To date, the organization has collected testimonies from more than 1,400 soldiers who represent all strata of Israeli society and cover nearly all units that operate in the territories.

All the testimonies we publish are meticulously researched, and all facts are cross-checked with additional eyewitnesses and/or the archives of other human rights organizations that are active in the field. Every soldier who gives a testimony to Breaking the Silence is well-aware of the aims of the organization and the interview. Most soldiers choose to remain anonymous, due to various pressures from military officials and society at large. Our first priority is to safeguard the soldiers who choose to testify to the public about their military service.

So its Israel's fault that 3000 Hamas fighters chose to attack, mutilate & rape Israeli (&other) civilians & take hostages. And its their responsibility to make sure it doesn't happen again. And Hamas have no responsibility even though their own charter states their intention to destroy Israel & they have said they will do it again. And I guess Israel has to sit & wait for Hamas to give the hostages back. Even though they said they wont. At this point surely everyone can see this is a deranged, racist position.

SharonEllis, if you look at the statistics, many many more Palestinians are killed by Israelis every year ( UN verified statistics) An independent bystander might well say who needs protection from who? You could argue both sides, but in terms of casualties it is clear the Palestinians need protection from Israel and this is obvious to anyone without blinked views.
Israel needs to look at how their intelligence failed so badly. Work that out and there will not be anOctober the 7th again. It was a catastrophic failure for the best intelligence in the world. Israel’s current actions will not make Israelis safer.

Israel’s agenda is very clear and there are ‘people’ who are making excuses for the complete annihilation of the Palestinian people.
