Will their British citizenship be revoked? Here is Tamara being glorified in the DM while the likes of Shamima Begum was crucified.

What's the difference between what either of them did because I can't see any and neither should be allowed back.

So if there was a full ceasefire tomorrow then this would mean that there would be no more or much reduced Palestinian civilian casualties. BUT it would mean that Hamas stays in power and they would continue with attacks causing further Israeli civilian casualties as they have promised to do.

Or if there was no ceasefire then this would mean that either Hamas are removed from power or at least their ability to cause further attacks on Israeli civilians is much reduced. BUT it would mean that further Palestinian civilian casualties would continue.

So it is simply a question of no / reduced Palestinian casualties but at the cost of further Israeli civilian casualties or no / reduced Israeli civilian casualties but at the cost of further Palestinian civilian casualties.

This is why I fear this may never come to an end. There doesn't actually seem to be a way out of it, only more and more destruction on both sides.

Yes, they probably don't have a clue that whilst them and their families are struggling to survive, their 'leaders' who have a great deal of responsibility for this are living lives of luxury after stealing their aid, their water pipes and hiding their 'soldiers' amongst their women and children.

@Pizdietz
These are unspeakable acts I wholeheartedly agree.

As are the acts of killing, disabling and bereaving thousands of children. As another poster mentioned, last night on the news I also watched a very young child covered in blood, screaming in terror as they dug hysterically through the remains of their collapsed home for their (dead) parents.

The world would be better off without the perpetrators of these acts. On BOTH sides.

The world would be better off without war. Full stop.

But when your opponent is Hamas, the options are rather limited.

Tell me, was it not “war” and “collateral” when Hamas did it?

No.

Hunting people down for hours, grabbing them and raping and dismembering them, filming someone's last moments to share on their Facebook feed to further traumatise their family and friends, repeatedly throwing grenades into a shelter full of unarmed kids... These are acts of terrorism, not of war.

The very fact that you ask the question shows that you either know nothing about what happened on 7 Oct, or don't care.

I’m not saying this because they’re Jews. I’m saying it because they are murderers.

So how do you suggest Israel go about it? Hamas want to commit genocide and have said they will keep repeating October 7th style attacks on Israel

Coronawireless · 04/12/2023 09:51

Alohapotato · 04/12/2023 09:47

I woukd feel my leaders are shit because they could had stop that and protected us.

@Alohapotato You wouldn’t blame the people bombing your children, no?

I know the Israeli communities who were attacked blame the Israeli government for failing to protect them. They also blame the Israeli govt for inflaming tensions by supporting the settlers and their violence. The actions and failures of the Israeli govt did not mean that the children in those communities deserved to be attacked though. “Because collateral” is not an excuse.

Likewise, the actions of Hamas does not mean that thousands of Gazan children deserve to be killed, injured and orphaned. “Because collateral” is not an excuse here either.

Alohapotato · 04/12/2023 09:47

Coronawireless · 04/12/2023 09:45

How would you feel if I went to your place and bombed your home and your hospitals and killed your children “because collateral”?

I woukd feel my leaders are shit because they could had stop that and protected us.

Coronawireless · 04/12/2023 09:41

The end result is the same.

Regardless of what Israel SAYS, what it is DOING is killing thousands and thousands of innocent people and making 2 million homeless.

Actions speak louder than words.

Why hamas is hiding instead of "sacrificing " themselves for their people? Why hamas kept the kidnapped people instead of liberating them so the war would stop? Actions speak louder than words.

I'm from a place where we want to be independent but we fight in politics, with our vote, making our land richer , making us more educated.. not killing teenagers who are dancing..

Coronawireless · 04/12/2023 09:45

Alohapotato · 04/12/2023 09:42

What hamas did was a terrorist attack. How would you feel if I go to your place and do to you and your family what hamas did to that people just because you are different to me?
I have empathy for the gazans who are dying ( not for those ones who celebrated the killing of israelian innocent people) but I do have empathy for the israelians too, why can you only have empathy for one group? Hamas is not the victim here, is the abuser.

Coronawireless · 04/12/2023 09:24

No excuses for anyone who thinks that murdering thousands of children is ok “because collateral”

As I have already stated, I have no sympathy with ANYONE who murders innocent children for ANY reason.

Coronawireless · 04/12/2023 09:42

You can't compare what Hamas did, they went to people's home and rape them, kill them in horrible way. They also killed young people who were dancing in a peace festival music.

Israel is attacking Gaza but they left them know in advance and they are attacking because of what Hamas did. Israel army is not going inside people's home and raping them, killing them in front of their loved ones and kidnapping children and do whoever knows what..

Hamas does not want jew people alive ( anywhere in the world) Israel wants a 2 state so they are happy for Palestinians to be alive.

I can't believe how many people excuse the atrocities hamas did, I'm shocked how the world minimises the horror from the 7th of October only because the victims were Jews ...

Coronawireless · 04/12/2023 09:26

Hamas set out with the sole purpose to kill civilians because they want genocide killing all Jews. Israel purpose is to kill Hamas, the people who hide amongst it's own civilians because they couldn't care less about their own people. You can 100% say you don't agree with how they are doing it but they are two different things.

@Bumble6 too much fighting on this thread and anything said will just be met with likely insults
But if you ask on a thread which is slightly more calm and open to discussion then I think you might get better responses even if there are disagreements about it

Bumble6 · 04/12/2023 07:32

I've asked several people on this thread and some more than once, what they think the Israeli's SHOULD do in their situation and so far no one has actually answered the question, it's just line after line of what they shouldn't be doing.
If you are one of the posters who thinks that Israel is a terrorist state and its army are terrorists, what do you think Israel should do to remove the threat of Hamas?

twilightmoon3 · 04/12/2023 06:20

The organisation above released a joint statement on October 7th along with other Israeli civil organisations. Definitely worth a read for those looking for answers as to what would you do.

A joint statement

We, members of the undersigned human rights organizations in Israel, are shocked and horrified in these dreadful days.

Hamas’ horrific crimes against innocent civilians – including children, women, and the elderly – have shaken us all, and we are struggling to recover from the unbearable sights and sounds. Some of us were in the Israeli communities on the Gaza border during the assault; many of us have family, friends, and colleagues who endured and are still in the midst of the harrowing events; and we all know people who were murdered, injured, or abducted. It will take time to fully understand the implications and consequences of Hamas’ heinous attack, for which there can be no justification.

Most of our teams include Israelis and Palestinians; therefore, some of us have relatives and colleagues in Gaza currently living under the ongoing assault of the Israeli military. Children, women, and the elderly are being indiscriminately attacked with nowhere to hide.

Even now – especially now – we must maintain our moral and humane position and refuse to give in to despair or the urge for vengeance. Keeping our faith in the human spirit and its inherent goodness is more vital than ever. One thing is clear: We will never surrender our belief in humanity – even now, when doing so is more challenging than ever.

Having always opposed the harming of innocent civilians, it remains our duty in these terrible times – as we count our dead on the Israeli side and worry about wounded, missing, and abducted loved ones, and as bombs are being dropped on residential neighborhoods in Gaza, wiping out entire families with no possibility of burying the dead – to raise our voices loud and clear against the harming of all innocent civilians, both in Israel and Gaza.

We call for the immediate release of all hostages and an end to the bombardment of civilians in Israel and in Gaza. Humanitarian aid must be allowed to reach civilian populations, medical facilities and places of refuge must not be harmed, and vital resources such as water and electricity must not be cut off. The killing of additional civilians will not bring back those who were lost. Indiscriminate destruction and a siege harming innocents will not bring relief, justice, or calm.

As individuals working to promote human rights and who believe in the sanctity of life, we urgently call for an end to all indiscriminate harming of civilian lives and infrastructure. We call for negotiations and all possible action to be taken to bring about the release of the hostages – while prioritizing the civilians held by Hamas. It is the only humane and rational thing to do, and it must be done now.
