Will their British citizenship be revoked? Here is Tamara being glorified in the DM while the likes of Shamima Begum was crucified. What's the difference between what either of them did because I can't see any and neither should be allowed back.

The leaders of 'the other side' are Hamas who wish to commit genocide by killing ALL Jews. They want all Jewish women and children dead. This makes it very difficult to find a solution unfortunately.
I agree that the majority of Palestinian people are in the middle of this awful conflict, not just because they have been killed by the Israeli army but because their own leaders in Hamas have taken millions of their aid to build themselves lives of luxury, their water pipes to build rockets etc while a massive percentage of the people struggle to live.
Just calling the Israeli people and army the baddies won't help and I'm so tired of reading people's posts condemning Israel and how awful they are whilst coming up with no solutions or condemning Hamas for openly wanting Genocide.

As Tamara has lived in Israel since she was 5 and refers to it as her country I don't think she is planning on returning to the UK to live. She is British by birth. That's always going to be there

Her battalion also helped to defend one of the Kibbutz that was attacked on October 7.

So it’s legal for a British person to go to Syria to fight as part of Assad’s army, but not legal to go to Syria to fight the rebels trying to get rid of Assad, despite the fact that Assad is an enemy of Britain and the rebels aren’t.

Sounds like the law’s got a bit out of date.

I agree. It's a passport not a prefect badge to be taken away if you don't like someone's politics. The Americans did this to Charlie Chaplin when he was out of the country. What is citizenship worth if it is so easily revoked?

Errr yes because if a Palestinian girl from the UK went to Gaza to fight for Hamas then she would be joining a proscribed terrorist organisation under UK law. Whereas under UK law the Israeli Army is not a proscribed terrorist organisation.

Now you may agree or disagree with this and view it as double standards but either way it is the UK law and if you choose to go against you will be prosecuted.

Britannica online says Hamas moved its HQ to Qatar in 2012 after being kicked out of Syria. An article in the NY Times describes the life of luxury Hamas leaders enjoy in Qatar and Turkey. I could go on, but you can just as easily look it up yourself.

Indeed @twilightmoon3 Menachim Begin was a big fan of the IRA leader Michael Collins and used the code name Michael in his honour. He once said ' If the Palestinians ever find a Collins we are finished'.

750 British soldiers died in that conflict when Palestine was under the British Mandate.

It needs to go back to the two state solution but it won't.

Its people like you who encourage Jews to move to Israel and join the IDF.

We feel pretty helpless sitting here in the UK or other countries and watching the sheer ignorance coming out of your mouths and keyboards, and at some point it becomes a real threat. Hence security guards outside Jewish synagogues and kindergartens.

Anyway, unless you want to ban dual citizenship, she is doing nothing illegal.

Not sure what Bibis son has to do with it. Presuambly he is an adult and makes his own choices in life. Do you control your adult children?

She is not Shamina Begum in any sense at all (neve rmind that she has not gone there to breed cubs of the caliphate). First of all she has gone to her own country - I think a lot of these fighters have UK and Israel citizenship so is joining her own war, as it were. Secondly Israel is our friend and a democracy and the UK and many of its people including the UK support Israel. Hamas and ISIS are appalling terrorists organisations.

Even in Europe the following countries have compulsory military service Lithuania, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Latvia, Austria, Greece and Estonia.

Would you strip British citizenship from anyone who had dual citizenship and fulfilled their compulsory military service in their other country.

Awaits a response containing whataboutery, denial of facts, accusations of genocide / racism/ Islamophobia/ cruelty to cats etc - but crucially not actually answering the point.

Would you strip British citizenship from anyone who had dual citizenship and fulfilled their compulsory military service in their other country.
