IDF shot a 9 year old boy

Except it’s relevant isn’t it? If Hamas use child soldiers, and they have a tactic of baiting IDF soldiers to chase into ambush, then it’s highly relevant to the IDFs actions.

That the child threw an explosive at the soldiers it doesn’t guarantee they were a member of Hamas (or IJ, or one of the other options) but it does suggest it, doesn’t it?

No one is saying “oh great a child dead”- it’s horrible, and the boys poor parents must be suffering terribly. But that doesn’t mean that the IDF were just sitting on the corner smoking a fag, saw a few kids go by and thought “oh this is a laugh” and took a pot shot.

This. It beggars belief that posters have come on to bleat about Hamas. He was a CHILD.
On another thread, about an Israeli child, there are complaints about people derailing and how it is always "pro-Palestinian" posters. Have some respect and follow the same advice for all children, regardless of nationality.

Why on earth was post saying that there is no excuse for killing a 9 year old child deleted? Seriously. Mumsnet has lost the plot. Are people just reporting every post that doesn't agree that maybe the child was in the way or maybe he deserved to be shot? Madness.

What I'm asking you is why you're so sure that Hamas is telling the truth about Basel's membership of Hamas - given that the received wisdom is that Hamas always lies

And it's important because they are trying to arrange a big showy Hamas funeral which his family don't want and which will confirm to people like you that Basel was a terrorist and all that follows from that

Think his family have been very brave to speak out considering the risk of push-back from Hamas

A child was murdered.

It doesn't excuse anything.

But there is also no justification for this child being murdered. And a reflection on the supporters of one side that they tried to label a child as a 'terrorist'

Administrative detention - NOT a fair trial - for detaining children for throwing stones- does not make them convicted 'terrorists'

A child was killed but that's all you read, and that's all you needed to know. That's all you needed to justify your racism, towards a dead child.

Be patient and wait for what evidence to surface? It was shown on the BBC News at 10 last night. Videos interviews the lot. There is no other evidence! This was a child murdered, running away in the West bank. I don't care what he did before he was shot because he was not a threat running away and did not deserve to be executed. As I said upthread, in Northern Ireland plenty of teens used to throw petrol bombs at the British army and thankfully most did not shoot them dead.
Anyone who is trying to explain away the murder of a child is beyond the pale because there is no justification for it whatsoever

It was not like he was simply walking down the street, in the video it looked like there was a bunch of kids throwing something at soldiers. This is very dangerous, and obviously not something a small child should be involved in. But of course not a reason to shoot him.
