And there are loads of normal Israeli people who sit and watch settlers steal homes ad terrorise people. Lots of normal Israelis who sit and watch as the IDF drag away children in the middle of the night and torture them, in fact there are lots of normal Israelis in favour of it. Lots of normal Israelis cheering as bombs drop in Gaza and merrily supporting a government that regularly spouts genocidal rhetoric. Lots of normal Israelis who said they didn't care how many civillians die in this conflict. Lots of normal Israelis which teach their children that Palestinians are less than them, that they are primitive.

Why are we listing all of this out? What was the point you were trying to make that Palestinian civilians aren't actually innocent? Because if that's the point you were trying to make I have news for you....

Okay, setting aside whether he is or not (i dont know if he is anti semite or against Israels military aggressions) if these songs and statements are indeed true representation of what is being popularised in Israel, do they not count as calls to hatred and genocide against a people?

And there are lots of normal civilians involved in this atrocity.
Normal people who went through fence and joined in
Normal people who kept hostages and returned them when they tried to escape.
Normal people who crowd round buses of children being released jeering and screaming obscenities.
Not just Hamas. (Or other terrorist groups)
Normal people.

@HeidiInTheBigCity it's not a race to the bottom (apparently) why not acknowledge what has happened. Civilian hostages are not the same as those arrested. Holocaust survivors and peace activists who take Palestinians to hospital are not a legitimate target.

I am an atheist but - for whatever this is worth from someone who personally believes that what remains of us after we die are the people who mourn us alone:

I am sad that these people are dead! They deserved better as much as my student did when, earlier, I angrily posted "my [dead] student deserved better". They will never come back and each one - to someone - will be a personal "end of the world".

They all deserve better! Dead hostages, my English student R. who never even got the chance to grow up, ... WE all deserve better!

I am an atheist, so I will not say "may they rest in peace" because I do not believe in that - instead: may their loved ones come to find a way to cope and find peace for themselves!

Atleast with other pro Israeli supporters, though I may disagree completely, there is still some space for debate and conversation. But you're straight off daily fail/Netanyahu headlines with little variation or depth.

I would encourage you to read a little further - Ilan Pappe as mentioned, Simha Flapan, both Israeli historians, to name just 2. You don't have to change your mind, but it may give you a little wider perspective.

This war has been brutal but I hope that of not all then atleast some of the on going issues are finally addressed that have been brushed under the carpet for so long
