Why is that upsetting though? If you care about both? Making comments about Gazan’s doesn’t negate any discussion about the hostages and how awful it’s been for them does it?

There are so many threads that people can and do comment on.

This one was about Israeli hostages and every post earlier was followed with what about, or its worse for Gaza or similar themes and some ignorant comments etc.

I understand people just wanted to discuss the topic of Israeli hostages without all that whataboutery all the time. Is that really so difficult to understand?

“ Detainees, truce and agreements.”

Just in case you missed the switch over…..

It just avoids upset and arguments, so makes sense.

But yes, I see your point that could well happen. I still don’t think it’ impossible to discuss both groups on the same thread though.

@Reallifelurker whilst the ‘other’ thread is for Palestinian detainees there is always mention of the release of Hamas hostages aswell. Though that is not the thread for it be discussed at any length.

But, They are given the respect of at least a mention.
So I think perhaps the ‘other’ thread will offer more debate that you may seek.

Whilst also acknowledging those that go over to it that end up derailing will also be asked to leave, as they have been on the last two nights of hostage release.

Its a shame
But it is what it is for now and means posts aren’t wasted in arguing.

I’m not saying anyone should be ashamed of anything. It just comes across as a bit dismissive.

Other people are. Those poor victims who have been chased on the thread, according to you by the horrible people daring to talk about Israeli hostages.

When you do it in reply to someone talking about Israeli hostages, on a thread about the hostages, its disingenuous and quite obviously done to minimise what happened to them. We are allowed to think about the hostages without any of you reminding us about Gazan's. There are so many pro Palestine threads its just beyond rude to come on to the few about Israeli's and do that.

This is about Israeli hostages. Someone has set up a separate thread about Palestinian detainees to try and keep things on track.

Eitan Yahalomi is 12. He had already been described as a sensitive child by his family.

His aunt has said Hamas made the children look at videos of 7th October attack. Hamas gunmen would also threaten the children when they cried.
When he arrived in Gaza, civilians also beat him. ( Video on Twitter shows lots of men hitting or trying to hit the hostages as they are driven through Gaza.)

According to her, he was partly detained alone, and at times with others. This is in addition to the trauma he experienced, including seeing his father injured following a shootout with Hamas. He was separated from his mother and sisters before they were taken to Gaza and they managed to escape.

I'm really disturbed by videos of Palestinians jeering and hammering on vehicles with the hostages in them. It's like a public spectacle

It's just Hamas, right?

Chased off the thread? They're still here still making irrelevant comments, still trying to make people feel ashamed for talking about anything other than Gaza. Don't pretend like you're persecuted and put upon.

Some of us can care about both actually. This thread is about Israeli hostages, there are plenty of others for you to post on about what you think of Israel's actions. Please go and do so on those threads
