I'm not convinced Hamas will have been short of food though, unlike ordinary Gazans. Plenty of anectotes and footage of them raiding supplies meant for civilians as well.

I just saw some very sad footage of a traumatised young girl. She's so shut down she's barely reacting. Treated well my arse.

Those poor innocent children have been psychologically tortured. And so many of them still have kidnapped family members - how can they even begin to recover? The pure evil I have read on social media today, people gloating and laughing at these children makes me feel utter despair.

I’ve no idea what’s best, but I hope that other countries accept asylum applications from these families - surely for the children a new country might be best - how can they ever feel safe in Israel again.

I think the lack of food is to be expected - most Gazans must be struggling to eat. So I discount that. The rest is horrific. I find it hard to understand the people on X trying to say the hostages are being treated well - why would you expect that after October 7? How does that make them respectful - even if some were treated well - it doesn’t detract from October 7. It’s really odd.

I don't have X so cannot see them but I understand its a mix of guesswork, real things and made up nonsense.

At the end of the day being kidnapped and constantly worrying for your life is enough regardless of other treatment.

Sad - I've always wondered if there was a special arrangement made for this little family - crying baby and squealing toddler harder to hide/nightmare in a tunnel or even that they were 'stolen to order'

And yes the poor 'missing hostages' it's never been clear what that meant

I won't reply again but I do wonder why don't you want us to even have ONE thread specifically about the plight of the Israelis suffering this nightmare?

That is just horrible. To do to anyone, but a child? Its a kind of torture. That poor child. I hope the toddlers weren't left like that. Sickening.

I was on the first thread 'Hostages' for weeks and it was fine - some tension and the occ spat

Keeping the thread [and hope] alive during the interminable negotiations was the biggest issue

Unfortunately the thread ended not long after the hostages/detainees were released and the new thread naturally didn't have the same resilience when lots of apparently new posters joined the thread

So I don't recognise your 'analysis' in this case
