The 24 year old was Livia Dickman, and the other lady named was Chana Ifergan, the principal of a school in my city.

This bus stop is one my husband has used before when commuting for work and was bombed last year, two people murdered including a 16 year old schoolboy.

Reports of sirens up north as well.

Still nothing about whether the terrorists were released in previous deal.

i don’t think they were treated the same as the Israelis. Also it doesn’t appear to be one mass group being held, Emily hand and hila rotem were held with another women (not hilas mother), and different groups are likely to have had different experiences.

The Thai media just released a statement saying the captives were treated well.

Not sure if they were released as part of a previous scheme but the Mossad X account is reporting they were known terrorists that had been in prison before.

I don’t know @Parkingt111, although it would make sense. There is a large contingent of hostages who were kidnapped from the Nova festival, who would not be in the children category, the elderly men and the fathers of a lot of the families who were released.
You’re right that the Thais were a separate agreement with their government, and one Russian was released also as a separate deal.

So the agreed category includes women of all ages (although I don't think IDF soldiers)
And then children (under the age of 18) male and female - please someone correct me If that is wrong

So if Hamas are saying they only have 7 or is it 8 remaining by them of the agreed category then who is unaccounted for?

I think we will only know for sure once the hostages are released today

older elderly women have been released as well over the last 6 days so assuming they were also in the same category? Just wondering if there were still elderly women held really to fill up the 8 spaces

@thelonemommabear sky news was reporting that according to Hamas that's the only hostages remaining in the 'agreed category'

So according to the terms of the truce Israel would release women and children detainees (under the age of 18)

And Hamas would release Israeli hostages from the same category
I think the Thai and Russian hostages who were released were not part of the truce agreement

Realistically who would the 8 be - I sadly think if Hamas was offering 3 bodies then that could tragically be Kfir and Ariel and their mother. Which would leave Aisha and her brother.

What is the demographic do we think of those still held? Any older women still held now? Or are the remainder largely younger women in their 20s?

Im so glad to see Raya Rotem is on the list. She was looking after her daughter, Hila and Emily Hand and then Hamas are reported to have separated them two days before the girls were released. Since they have also reported that none of the hostages knew they were being released until they saw the Red Cross, that poor mother must have been beside herself with worry as to where her daughter and Emily had been taken

Much as the "Free Palestine" brigade might think Hamas is out of step with the rest of Gaza many see the reality.

Sort of, there are religious exemptions, and exemptions for special needs. It is possible to do sherut leumi (voluntary national service ) instead, which is mainly for religious girls, but others can join as well, including conscientious objectors. They do all sorts of volunteer work, a lot work in schools, special ed etc.
also joining the army doesn’t mean you are automatically joining a combat unit. There’s a huge number of support roles in the IDF. They train in the army and often come out with a qualification and they network and make connections. My friend trained and worked as an electrician in the army, so he came out with a qualification. Not everyone is suited to or wants to be in combat.
But the 19-30 year olds are probably either assumed to be in or have been in the IDF.

I don't know if it's delayed for education but I think after their service people stay in the reserves for a number of years, which might explain the age range of the women who haven't been released.

I was confused at first by the fact that the other 18-year-olds were listed as 'children' but not 18-year-old Liri Elbag. Figured out it's because she'd recently started her military service. Same with poor Naama Levy (She's 19, I think about her often too) and a few other 19-year-olds.

I've just seen the footage of yet another baying mob jeering at the released hostages. The thing that struck me this time was that Gaza supposedly doesn't have enough electricity for neo-natal incubators but it does have enough electricity for thousands of young men to keep their phones charged up for the essential purpose of filming traumatised children. Good to know the priorities. Good to know those fuel supplies aren't being wasted on sick children when there are important videos to upload on Telegram.
