So it's OK for famous/ less famous people to back one side but not OK for others to back another side?

These are just a few examples of how pressures/ firings are directed at those criticising Israel. Is this normal? What the heck is happening? Is this to silence anyone from voicing what they think is the truth?

I would have understood if they imposed a kind of blanket gag order on all actors/ celebrities not to discuss the conflict.

But!

This is happening while hundreds of others publically supported Israel and were instead celebrated.

People go mad about this stuff because they’re ignorant about anti-semitism.

jews/Israelis/zionists ‘controlling the media’ = an anti-Semitic trope. Used by several posters already on this thread. No criticism of Israel is not by definition anti-Semitic but it often can be.

I was speaking to DD, Year 12, and she said no one in her school would ever voice support for Israel. Young people seem to be very good at identifying propaganda

I am sure that’s there a lot antisemitic posts on SM at present. There should be minimal allowance made for racism, but this shouldn’t preclude legitimate concerns being raised about another country’s actions.

SM has made it more difficult for those in power to control narrative, and I imagine they are looking to see what they can do to gain back the control.

Have you heard the leaked audio of the Anti Defamation League ceo Greenblatt berating TikTok and the loss of control of information that people have access to? He’s concerned the younger generation are not as favourable in their views towards Israel compared to older generation.

It will be interesting to see how this progresses.

I saw that an Irish folk band had their gig is Germany cancelled due to their stance on the conflict. I haven't heard of any pro Israeli supporters having jobs withdrawn. Amy Schumer should never work again after some of the atrocious things she posted.

Hollywood is dying anyway, just like legacy media. Just don't spend your hard earned cash on paying to support companies like these ones. Anyway the actors were on strike for months this year and no one missed them....

Top Gun: Maverick starring Tom Cruise is one of the best films I've ever watched. Sublime. So much so that I watched the old Top Gun from 1986!
