I've had to laugh as I've seen nothing to convince me that it is abiding by international law. What examples of this can you give?

@untitledmum this point has been raised so many times, "why are you not going on about other conflicts."

I'll repeat what has been said hundreds of times already when this has been previously posted - most of the posters on here abhor war and are likely to have commented and marched against other wars, myself included. If you think people are not interested in other conflicts, just look at the thousands of Ukraine threads started last February and beyond on MN. Easily found using the search function. And many still ongoing.

But this is a thread about Palestine so of course we're not going on about other wars on here. It would derail from the point of this, which is to raise awareness of the Palestinians and what is going on for them.

But if you're concerned about those other wars, please start a thread on them separately on the appropriate board, I am sure some people will happily join in.

At the moment though the urgency is about this conflict as it is going on right now so of course people will be posting about it more. Especially as we are rightly shocked at what is happening. So, let's keep this thread focussed on that.

think Israel needs to try harder to abide to international law, they’re not doing it really well

btw , this thread is about Israel , it doesn’t matter whether we criticise or worry about any other wars around the world. And I’m pretty sure those that are worried about what is going in Gaza atm were as well during Iraq , Afghanistan or Congo

you might think this is antisemitism, what I think is that what you’re doing is derailing a thread that is showing that Israel and its army aren’t as innocent as they’re trying to pretend and that they’ve loads of blood in their hands.

im also fed up of brand new mn accounts coming to threads trying to lecture us of what we can say or think , everyone has got an opinion but it gets really tiring or boring defending your ideas against brand new accounts every week (mostly on the weekends) that are accusing you to be pro Hamas , and antisemitism

I'll tell you why. When you spend so much energy hating on Israel but haven't even blinked out an eye about the killings going on elsewhere around the world, that is antisemitism.

So, if anyone of you calling "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free" haven't also called for the liberation of Syria, Yemen, Iraq during their times of war then you are picking on Israel. Holding Israel to a higher standard than other countries is antisemitism.
Another example: You're all calamitising about the killing taking place in Shifra hospital. Did you also share the videos of the bombing that America did on Iraqi hospitals killing hundreds of innocent people. No. Why not? Innocent civilians were also killed then?

I said this on another thread (can't remember where) but antisemitism has no legally binding, universally accepted definition. So whats your definition? The dictionary says it's a prejudice held against Jewish people, but the IHRC goes as far as saying that 'stating that Israel is a racist endeavor' is antisemitic.

The vast majority of posters claiming antisemitism don't give any examples of why they find something antisemitic and when you ask them to clarify you get a snarky response like "if you don't know, I'm not telling you" 🤷‍♀️

I absolutely agree with this. Coming on a thread and branding it "antisemitic" without providing details of which posts are antisemitic is unhelpful. Report any actual antisemitic posts but generalising without providing the posts you believe to be, or reporting them, helps nobody. MN will remove any antisemitic posts.
