There's a lot of misinformation/propaganda spreading around and this thread is to raise awareness of the ones circulating. Here's one for example:

This is probably a more relevant question for @Ohlalalalala new thread but seeing as the majority of posters are in here already, why do you believe/trust the propaganda being spouted out by the IDF? This is a genuine question and not intended to be goady in any way.

Valid question.

Although the world will need to support Gaza, particularly countries like the US and the UK who supported Israel with the bombing campaign, Israel could be liable under international law.

I think the thing there is that Israel doesn't care about any International laws. Who would force them to pay up? Israel has literally gotten up and walked out of UN meetings when they hear something they don't like. They accuse humanitarian organisations of being biased or antisemitic when they hear something they don't like. They know that the big guns, the US, UK and Germany will always twist themselves in knots to back them so they just don't care about the law.

Israel will want the support and money from the UK and US - both countries have elections coming up so public opinion of funding Israel could be an issue.

"Israel now admits some 200 of the bodies they said were Israelis turned out to be "so badly burned" bodies of "Hamas terrorists"!

The question then is: who burned them?!?"

Thinking about the rebuilding costs and reading various articles.

One report says Israel’s decades-long blockade of Gaza has hollowed out its economy, leaving 80% of the population dependent on international aid. It also says nearly half of Gaza’s population is unemployed and that real GDP per capita is close to its lowest level since 1994.

Another report notes that since three-quarters of Palestinian trade is with Israel and the Israeli shekel is the main currency in circulation, Israel has a lot of control over the Palestinian Authorities' fiscal policy.

“Israel collects Palestinian trade taxes because all Palestinian import and export goes through Israel or through Israeli controlled borders,” said Mutasim Elagraa, coordinator of UNCTAD assistance to the Palestinian people.
“Israel effectively controls two-thirds of Palestinian tax revenue and transfers it to the Palestinian government,” he said noting that Israel sometimes delays the transfer or even freezes the transfer, which “makes Palestinians fiscally vulnerable.”
Although the world will need to support Gaza, particularly countries like the US and the UK who supported Israel with the bombing campaign, Israel could be liable under international law.

If Israel were making things up about the hospital would have put a lot more fake photos of weapons than showing instead the truth and what they found, surely? They said the other day they are starting work going through the hospital and other places near by. Sadly they have found the body of a jewish girl who has been buried today who was 19 and a hostage. That certainly suggests the hostages were near by and then moved (except some dead ones whom Hamas left behind).

There seem to be some tunnels near the hospital recently found which isn ot surprising if there are 300 miles of tunnels under Gaza used by terrorists.

Some of their photos are obviously fake - rocket launchers next to an MRI scanner.

The truth of what they found? How do we know that this is the truth? Why would we trust that this time they are being truthful. That's the problem with spending years making things up isn't it? People aren't inclined to believe you. They showed us 'proof' in the form of a video presentation that the Hamas HQ was under the hospital. They used the word 'proof'. So where is it? They've terrorised and killed Drs and Patients for days now and the world said its grand they have proof that the HQ is there. So where is it? Where is this HQ from their video, its been days now, they knew where it was, their 'proof' showed it to us in video format, why can they not find it? All they have to do is follow their proof surely?

There's been reports from Gaza that the Israel forces have been digging up new tunnels under Al Shifa hospital. Let's see what the next propaganda will be.

I'm putting this here in case something does come up and the lies are believed.

The parts about Hassan Eslaiah:

It said one of the photographers, Hassan Eslaiah, took pictures of a house burning in Kibbutz Kfar Azza, a target of the deadly attack by militants, while two others documented Hamas fighters transporting kidnapped Israelis back to Gaza. These harrowing images were all published by The Associated Press, as was a Reuters photo of a mob carrying the body of an Israeli soldier.

...

The Associated Press said it, too, had no advance knowledge of the attack. But it said in a statement that it was no longer working with Mr. Eslaiah, who filed the earliest and most extensive photos of the attack.
There were other red flags about Mr. Eslaiah. He posed for a picture being kissed by Yahya Sinwar, a Hamas leader who masterminded the attack. Amit Segal, an Israeli journalist, posted video on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he claimed showed Mr. Eslaiah riding in Israel on a motorcycle while carrying a hand grenade.
Mr. Eslaiah confirmed in an interview that he had been given a ride back to Gaza from Israel but said he was not the person carrying the grenade. He said he had no advance knowledge of the attack and had no links to Hamas, despite the photo with Mr. Sinwar. “I am very worried and scared,” he said.
Mr. Eslaiah suggested there was a double standard, noting that Israeli journalists had accompanied the Israel Defense Forces into Gaza to cover their ground operation. “Why are we not allowed, and they are allowed?” he said.
In a statement, CNN, which has also employed Mr. Eslaiah, said, “While we have not at this time found reason to doubt the journalistic accuracy of the work he has done for us, we have decided to suspend all ties with him.”

What happened to cause the newly created separate thread, which posted the article by Marc Owen Jones about propaganda, to be deleted for breaking talk guidelines?

I just found out! I hope @MNHQ is not censoring articles written by academics now.

There were no broken guidelines. I saw so many threads with shady articles, inflammatory language and fake news being left.

I am hoping it's a mistake and that it will be reinstated shortly.
