I’m tired of those of us arguing for people on both sides to post factually on a disinformation thread being painted as pro-Israeli. I’m not pro-Israeli. I think what is happening in Gaza is a shocking humanitarian disaster, but that doesn’t mean that people should post any old unverified shite from dubious X or Instagram accounts or from electric intifada about what awful monsters the Israelis are.

I doubt the people of Gaza could give a shit what grizzly photos of their dead loved ones people on Mumsnet are posting.

I think people posting on the threads on this board will know well enough that the things being discussed here are indeed horrific, and are unlikely to be here if they are not prepared for that. It’s a bit disingenuous to suggest that parents in search of sleep training tips might suddenly blunder into a montage of bloody images.

I think trying to emotionally blackmail people into looking at distressing images if you can't make them look at them by surprise is pretty low.

Yes we are lucky not to live in Gaza. We are lucky to have the choice not to look at distressing images rather than being forced to live them.

You might think it's important to see them. You have the choice to do that. Others have the choice not to. You do you.

@mixgoal Believe me, no one delights in seeing these photos. The people of Gaza need us to look. If we didn't we wouldn't know the horrors Israel is subjecting them to.

It does not say Israel is responsible for the bomb. It does say Israel’s account does not tally with their finding. It does not say Hamas is innocent.

If you are talking about me then I have done no such thing. I have posted links to a number of fact checks debunking pro-Israeli social media posts about crisis actors and fake Palestinian casualties that have been proven to be untrue. Arguing that people should check their sources and question pro-Palestinian posts as well as pro-Israeli posts does not amount to justifying Israeli actions or “absolving genociders” ffs.

Do you understand that there is a difference between not wanting to see images of blown up children, and supporting blowing up children?
