Be aware of misinformation seen regarding Palestine

That Haaretz article doesn’t say anything like what the tweet suggests it does.

@EasterIssland posted a biased and misleading tweet. The Haaretz article quoted above actually says that Hamas most likely didn’t know about the festival prior to Oct 7th and spontaneously attacked it that day. Posting a tweet implying it wasn’t Hamas that carried out the mass rape, torture and murder at the festival because they didn't know about it is spreading misinformation of the highest order.

I think MNHQ goes more by the opinions of the person doing the moderating than actual guidelines. I've had posts deleted whilst worse posts have remained. I'm absolutely sure there are certain posters ensuring any criticism of Israel is deleted. I reported a recent really nasty post about Corbyn that was allowed to remain yet a few weeks ago i criticised Netanyahu and was deleted and it wasn't as personal a critique as the Corbyn one.

When it comes down to it mn seem to be toeing the line as set by the government.

Thats why i think there should be more detailed talk guidelines

Just to clarify: even though I found your outburst rude and uncalled-for, I did not report it; I never respond to a post I report.

I think saying that posters are supporting the murder of children 'without naming names' is a particularly sly way of throwing shade while dodging accountability.

I mean, if you think someone is supporting the murder of children, why wouldn't you name names?

That said, posters on here have tried to accuse me of supporting the murder of children or whatever, which is obvious horseshit, so one must remain sceptical as to the veracity of these claims.

It's a purity spiral. If you even slightly deviate from the accepted narrative, then you must be a baddie.

@MNHQ I’m really not sure why I was deleted. I objected, admittedly using strong language, to a poster who heavily insinuated that I was justifying the murder of children. Since when is swearing against Talk Guidelines? I didn’t name call or personally attack anyone, I just objected to what felt like a very pointed attack on me. I queried whether the poster was referring to me in a previous response and they did not respond but instead posted a discusting accusation aimed at posters who “know who they are”. I know they now say they didn’t mean me but haven’t clarified who they did mean despite being asked.

Is it ok to do that as long as you say you aren’t naming names?

Which Muslims are those that Israel "allows" to "live and worship relatively freely"? You mean the ones whose country it is in the first place? The ones it has stolen their land? The ones it has been trying to ethnic cleanse for the last 75 years? The ones it is currently cowardly bombing and killing by the thousands?

Are those the Muslims you're talking about?

@Lobster7 not really. Israel is the only state entirely for Jewish people although funnily enough it allows Muslim citizens to live and worship relatively freely also.
On the other hand Muslims have a multitude of different countries offering an Islamic way of life to chose from. Some of those countries are not open to allowing other religions to practice openly, in fact some have seen huge discrimination and violence towards Christians and Buddhists.

So who were you referring to, who has justified murdering children?
